Bargain Hunting Is a Full Time Job :(

As i've got quite a lot of free time during this period I've unfortunately realized bargain hunting is a full time job, even though I'm primarily on the lookout for IT based stuff. Keeping watch, then price matching, verified specs etc. How do you guys do it?

    I work for a hobby

I call it a side hustle. Do it after the day job is over :)

    • Without the day job ,no money to buy

  • I have too much time on my hands…

Time is as valuable as money.

As you said yourself, you have the time to dedicate to save money on expenses.

Personally, I think the time you dedicate to achieve X amount of savings is inversely proportional to how much you earn.

I come here for the jokes, so it's not as simple as time divided by savings.

  • I’m good at multitasking

If the time you spend looking for savings doesn't work out to be at least like $12 an hour, or whatever your magic figure is for you to prefer work, then you're better off just working more and forgetting about bargains altogether.

    • Yeah i find it very funny to see the save $5 by doing this blah blah so called bargains.I dont even bother with those anymore.

      • Well sometimes when it’s $5 here $10 there it’s the processes u start to understand, get quicker at it, feel good it’s free, stops you spending money, ect… but I’ve got to the point where I’ve also stopped doing most of them. U can live a comfy life doing these things with an average job but if U want a lot more coin then focus on other ways

I am mostly here now as this place relaxes me and keeps me updated of the value of items

  • I look for bargains at work. Win win.

    • U could also study/invest time in other things, that’s a bigger win

  • It's a full time job that costs me a lot of money.

I only hunt for what I absolutely want and run very specific searches.

I ignore all cashbacks or anything that requires 3 steps or 2 signups.

With less money the last few years I now understand why elderly people would shop at three grocery stores to get the specials as it is time consuming. I keep a running item list for groceries and buy extra of anything on sale when it stores, e.g. soda cordial. As long as I use it, plus less tri p s means less impulse buys.

Online shopping I do all on my exercise bike on my phone each day, keeps you exercising longer, doesn't waste so much time and you're more likely to stop at the point where bargain hunting becomes pointless
