The world's most influential treatise on strategy

"The Art of War" is an ancient Chinese military treatise dating from the 5th century BC and is attributed to the ancient Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu. The text is composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare and it is commonly thought of as a definitive work on military strategy and tactics. It was placed at the head of China's Seven Military Classics upon the collection's creation in 1080 by Emperor Shenzong of Song, and has long been the most influential strategy text in East Asia. It has had an influence on Eastern and Western military thinking, business tactics, legal strategy and beyond.

I import all my ebooks, however they were acquired, into Calibre (Windows program) and then have it email the books to my Kindle (or other people's if you so wish).

This way you still get things like syncing of last page across all your devices (e.g. physical Kindle, and app on tablet/phone etc.) even if it wasn't obtained via Amazon.

        • +2

How do you go about syncing last page across devices with Calibre and Kindle? I would freaking love that, but can't find anything that does it well.

          • +1

@fluffymurderball: Last page syncing works automatically with any book emailed into your Kindle account. Doesn't have to be sent from calibre, just need to set up an inbound email address in your Amazon account to receive ebooks.

Calibre is just a neat way of organising a collection on your PC, but can also be set up to email books out. Put the two together and there you go.

Funny how the publisher used a photo of Karuta (Japanese Samurai Armour) as the cover photo.

I was thinking the same thing.. Bit insulting to Sun Tzu to use another army's uniform..

  • I was actually thinking about going to war soon.
