It's $9.99 in the US Steam store, but to be honest even that is too much money for this awful game.

Lol. $10 bucks for a game that's not even a year old…. how far Duke has fallen.

      • It's even cheaper on the Japan store at $7.49 USD

  • 9 cents cheaper for a physical copy http://www.dungeoncrawl.com.au/p-3453-duke-nukem-forever-pc.…

how do you tell if pc games can or cant be used on steam?

i played it on ps3 and its ok, but its not a game your going to get regular use from, i keep it mostly for nostalgia

There's a KB article on Steam forums about the retail cd keys that can be used on Steam, but it seems to be outdated and Valve don't seem to be updating it any more:

      • Doesn't seem that out of date, Shogun 2 is on there. It just seems they don't offer this service on many games.

I would have to say that its not a "bad game"… just a bad game in todays standards xD

would have probabily been awesome if it was released 12 years ago when it was first planned =/

    • This!

    • What are today's standards though? Graphically it isn't as good, but if your measure is entertainment, then its much more fun than most of the games of the same genre these days.

Everyone just attacks it from the expectation imposed on it and never give it a chance.

I get REALLY mad at the 2.5 times price difference between AU and US. I would buy this, but I refuse to buy anything which is so clearly mispriced.

    • I agree about the AU price gouging

    • Agree. For $9.99 I probably would've gotten this even though I don't really care much for the game. I don't have a US steam account though.

  • I loved Duke3d so much… and I just can't bring myself to ruin the memories by playing this

    • It really is worth a playthrough, it isn't as bad as reviews make it out to be, that said, do make sure you get it cheap

    • If you enjoy an old school style FPS with added Duke attitude then give it a go, the reviews really didn't give it a chance. I enjoyed all of it, finished it over a weekend. The R/C car levels, mini duke levels and the strip club we're awesome fun and certainly original.

      • ok, cheers for the advice - i'll pick it up when it drops a LITTLE further

I am waiting for it to drop to $2.50 before I will consider :p

not all of us are willing to wait a whole week, though.

  • This game was appalling. Loved it as a kid though.

    • I'ver never played the original myself, but from what I can tell from playing the demo this game was bad about 10 minutes into it.

      • the first 2 chapters are quite ordinary, especially the start, the ending is pure bullshit, but the middle chapters is where its at, some of the bosses are a real pain in the arse

  • compared to the original duke3d the hype was so high i think it could never have lived up to it's name, i'm just happy it's done and dusted and behind us…
