Hey guys, was looking at getting a budget Dac for my desktop system and after a bit of research the SMSL Sanskrit 10th MK II seems like a great option in its price range.

"These mini "pocket" DACs are changing the game with their excellent performance and budget prices. There is really no excuse to use sub-par DACs or spend orders of magnitude for boutique DACs with far worse performance.

I am happy to put SMSL Sanskrit 10th MK II DAC on my recommended list."

Very well reviewed especially for the price. Regular price $162.80. The cheapest I can find it elsewhere is $160.31 from Shenzen Audio & $169 from Amazon. This deal for $130.24 + 2.93 postage (15-25 business days) seems like a good saving.

Group buy just requires 1 other person to get the discount.

Not sure if there are many budget audiophiles out here but thought I'd post and see.

Thanks for reading!

  • Is there a link? I can only see price as AU$162.80, and no mention of bluetooth.

    • I can see it on my android browser and the Banggood app. Maybe try one of those. Sorry, no Bluetooth, my bad. Will edit.

  • Actually on second thoughts I might be better off getting the newer SMSL SA-300 for $219 on Amazon. Newer chip, more power, if you can live without the optical input.

I would need to buy an amp anyway.

Still a good deal if anyone is looking for a small dedicated DAC.

    • Which speakers are you driving?

      • The Audioengine P4's from the deal the other week. Not entirely sure how much power I need but I'm sure it'll by fine for PC usage.

        • You might want to consider the AD18 which might be enough especially since you'll just be using it for desktop use. Here's a comparison from Joentell.

          • @Ryanek: Oh interesting, thanks for this. I have some thinking to do.

Another pointless DAC that sounds exactly the same as most DACs including $2 commodity DACs that go into most devices.

  • If it gets this cheap again I'm selling my Modius and switching over to this DAC.
