Has anyone else receieved a USA vs Boomers TEG Live Refund email

I recieved an an email a few hours from TEG Live referencing this page and a link to a zendesk form asking for some details including BSB and Bank Account number.

It looks legitimate enough as all of the ticket details, date and mention of obstructed view are correct but a bit strange that I have seen no discussion so far.

Three is an email and 1300 phone number that are the same as on their website for follow up but I was just interested to see if anyone else had gotten the same communication.

This sounds dodgy. Wouldn't they refund the money into the card that was used for the transaction?

Edit: Maybe call them up to confirm it's legitament?

    • My thoughts too but the ACCC website has a media release on it too.

Correction: This media release was amended on 16 June 2020 to highlight the need for consumers to provide their bank account details to TEG Live to receive a refund. Consumers will not be automatically credited with the refund, as originally stated.

If it is a scam it's a good one because the details are there.

  • I was about to close a credit card and was chasing a Ticketmaster refund. They wanted me to provide my bank details by filling in a form and sending it to them, along with a copy of my ID. To an insecure email address. When I raised my concerns, they couldn’t understand why I had any.

Needless to say, I waited for them to refund to my credit card before closing.

I think if you are just providing bank account info it’s not that bad, but if they want any copies of your ID, this is when it gets concerning.

  • i applied for the refund but got declined. Apparently my seats were 2 rows away from being refunded

    • We're you on the floor level? I was out on the ground below the height of the court which would have qualified me. Wasn't that close though so most of my view was back of heads.

Hey, I got the email and it is legit. I got my refund about a week after I filled it in.

Please note that the email I received was from [email protected]

It had all the details of the tickets I bought including account number and unique reference number which I cross-checked with my purchase.
