Considering buying this over competitors because it has way better low light performance.

When you can get an Osmo for <$285 this ancient Sony is terrible value for money. It was ok back when the GoPro Hero 5 was around, but up against the current lineup it’s not even close. Unless you need that shape, long and thin, there are few other reasons to get it still.

Lol this was 300 on special 3 years ago

It was 249AUD during the 299AUD promotion period. And you did not include Cashback yet. LOL this is still one of the best actioncam. The optical stabilisation and image quality is still top notch and sound quality still the best.

    • Inflation is coming to oz … or to Sony products..

  • The only action you're gonna get is some parkour in your backyard. Well at least for melbourne folks 😂

  • We have found the optics of this on snow better than go pro. YMMV.

  • I found its better as a 1080p cam, don't expect 4K performance to be fabulous. And yep it was much cheaper years ago, or at least I remember it was around $300.

  • One of the ambulance shows is using them for broadcast at the moment so 4k can't be too bad.

  • $450 at Ted's almost 4 years ago.
    Has been about $350.
Should buy Sony sports cameras, an appreciating asset.
In 4 years Sony hasn't released a new model. That's how good it is.

  • As a previous user, I am inclined to agree that with OIS and Carl Zeiss optical, this Sony can still hold its own against recent action cams and excels in lower lighting condition. Note that it also includes a diving case (to 60m) which is optional extra with other cameras. The fact that Sony is still selling it and the price is not free falling says something. I sold mine for 80% the price I paid for it after 3 years (I bought it during a promotion and kept it very well).
It is however falling behind the latest big names action cams in terms of features (not video quality though) and lacks a video screen so may be a hard sell around this price …

  • I got it at $350 2 yrs ago
