Which Mid Range Stick Vac

Hi all,
Looking to get a cordless stick vac, mainly just for doing window crevices, skirting board, kids messes etc. Sick of dragging the stupid corded one for that stuff. Was set on the Vax blade 2 max, but no one had any in stock anywhere.

Xiaomi dreame v9
Xiaomi dreame V10 (doesn't seem that different to v9)
Dyson v7
Dyson V8
Lg cord zero
Wait for Vax to come back in stock.
Any other?

I refuse to spend a grand on a vacuum.

Put off Xiaomi due to not being able to purchase from bricks and mortar store. Can get through Amazon from gearbite though.

  • I have a Dyson v7 which I find very good. I use the attachments to do the skirting boards and the tricky window areas. They are so easy to use and are very effective in cleaning up messes from my 22 month old grandson.

  • I currently own a Vax blade cordless vacuum.

I really like this vacuum and the price point is good. My issue is they are not hugely reliable but their warranty in Australia is very good.

So far I have had 2 Vax VX60 and I am now own a VX63 (my third unit). Each vacuum has been a straight out swap at The Good Guys because the motorised head has burnt out. No questions asked, just go get another one off the shelf. This is all within the two year warranty. Unfortunately I am now out of warranty and next time I upgrade I will buy a Dyson.

If you are not sold on a battery powered portable vacuum these are well priced, have a good warranty, work well (with the motor head on). The downside is the catch bucket is small and required frequent emptying, the filters need to be washed every two or three uses, but these are easy to rinse out, dry and replace in the machine. The motorised head also requires frequent cleaning, but this is not unique to Vax.
