Looking for Quite Specific French Door Fridge

I'm looking for a fridge, preferably french-door, that is less than 920mm wide, and less than 1770 tall.
Unfortunately my fridge area is quite limiting in size.
I'd like either silver or black colour, water dispenser, and under 2000 dollaydoos.
Most I can find are either too tall or too wide.
I have my eye on some Hisense and haier fridges.
I like the haier with the 2 freezer doors at the bottom, so quad-door design, but it's slightly too tall unfortunately.

  • I might consider side-by-side, just gotta be convenient and plenty of freezer space, and energy efficient too.

  • Hi from Adelaide…

Try measuring again and see if:
    https://saappliancewarehouse.com.au/product/euro-635l-french…
    Height: 1780mm x Width: 910mm x Depth: 780mm
    would fit…

    or…
    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/chiq-602l-side-b…

    • First one looks good, but would be a really tight fit. May even need to remove feet.
Second one also looks okay, but are they decent brands?

      • Second is White, AppliancesOnline are good company. I think TheGoodGuys were selling ChiQ…
        Dimensions are:

        Height (mm)
        1770 mm
        Width (mm)
        912 mm
        Depth (mm)
        704 mm

You need to measure the available space and allow for any specified clearance for air circulation at rear, above, sides…

On appliances online, you can filter, fridge type, dimensions etc. this is handy to see what models fit fridge space.

Westinghouse WHE6060SA French door fridge .Stainless steel.

605L capacity .Available Appliances Online just over $2000.
    Choice magazine recommended.

  • Sounds very similar to my fridge space. I ended up getting https://www.lg.com/au/fridges/lg-GF-B590PL (Height (mm) 1787 Width (mm) 835)
But this is 17mm too high for you.
For me it is like a perfect fit. Only 1mm clearance from the top cabinet door. (a few cm more clearance if I removed the doors, that was my backup, to shave off part of the door)
The back 2/3 of the fridge isn't that high, only the front 1/3.
Measure again and also see if you can do anything with the top cabinet to get a bit more space?

    • since I'm renting, I can't go modifying the cabinet. Perhaps I could take the feet of the fridge? lol

  • can you add depth as well ?is there a cabinet above the fridge as well?

    • Yeah there is cabinet/cupboard above. I'm not too worried about depth. It seems deep enough, and I don't mind if it sticks out.
      Unless it's crazily deep, I don't mind.

Depth comes into play - the door hinges on french doors are higher than the reat of the fridge - look at pictures of open french door fridges - i suggest you measure up a fridge in the shops to be sure

  • Why can't I easily buy older stock from a couple years ago new, or almost new for much cheaper?

    Would you consider other nationalities?

    • Some of the buildings in Hahndorf have really low door frames. lol

    • I wonder what a German-door fridge looks like…

  • We had a similar issue. This one ended up being perfect. Discontinued but may have a newer model.

  • This fridge looks quite nice, and seems convenient, but a little pricey:
    https://www.betta.com.au/samsung-676-litre-side-by-side-refr…

Betta electrical is not the cheapest place, but it's the only large appliance store in Murray bridge. It's only a few km away, so quite convenient.

Went through this saga recently with the added requirement of plumbed water and ice, made things very difficult with only two models under 900mm wide that carried the plumbing.
We ended up with an Electrolux 524L in the dark stainless, it’s a lovely fridge. Retails around $3000 but sits just over $2000 if you can catch a good sale.

  • I guess now I need to work out whether to buy now, or wait for sales. When are the EOFY sales? I haven't seen any yet.

    • I'm also looking for a fridge for over a month, haven't come across any good deals so far. BTW, Is Haier a good brand?
