      Yes, you may use it to charge your smartphones on your PC/laptop, but may not be suitable to charge your ipad (all PCs and laptops cannot charge ipad)

    It is cheap for a reason, as listed, this one doesn't come with a power supply which from experience, is an important part especially if you intend to connect an external drive and charging at the same time. Although for mouse and/or kboard receivers and USB stick it'll probably be ok.

      Yep confirming, I've got this hub and it barely powers more than 2 usb sticks. Anymore or pairing one usb stick with a portable SSD for example, and it'll keep disconnecting and reconnecting (without separate power).

      Keep that in mind if you're intending to use to copy files between USB drives.

      Wouldn't recommend for anything aside from a quick copy of files from one USB stick to another etc.

    I am using one. It works, no complain. Only issue for me is that it doesn't work too well after waking up from hibernation on my surface laptop. Sometimes i need to disconnect everything and reconnect again, sometimes i would need to disable and then reenable the USB device.

    I got one of these off ebay late last year, it didn't last long, it started giving constant USB port errors: “USB Device over current status detected”

    I replaced it with one of these recently, all good :)

    The Anker one was $12 and is around $17 now irrc. Definitely not worth this much. They just slapped on their branding to the generic OEM ones you find on ebay.

      Agree, $12 is ok, I wouldn't pay more… Pretty much everything is cheap crap with a name thrown on it these days, quality control seems to vary depending on brand, some companies attempt to protect their brand…

      So what do you recommend?
