48 Cans Dr Pepper for $44 at USA Foods Plus Shipping ($15 to Sydney) . $1.22/Can

300

Hi All,

This is the Dublin Dr Pepper which uses sugar cane rather than Corn Syrup, so it tastes much better than the regular (If you like Dr Pepper in the first place that is).

Works out to be $1.22/can if you're getting shipped to Sydney, which is cheaper than you can buy in any shop.

Make sure you put 2 in the order Quantity to get the best price per can!

  • I am so sick of the HFCS crap that is mostly all you can get these days. Back in the good old days when they used to make it here with real sugar it was awesome!

    • In the USA it is cheaper to use HFCS, whereas here in Australia it's still more profitable to use cane sugar. In nearly every soft drink made in Australia you'll see it's cane sugar - have a look at the ingredients on the can or bottle and you'll see.

EDIT: Reread your post, sorry - you were referring to when they made Dr Pepper here?

      • Yep, sure was.

  • Not a fan, but I noticed that it's "internet only".. Does this mean one can't pick it up from their shop?

    • They used to let you pick up internet only orders, but last time I asked I was told "no"

    • There will be an In-store sale equivalent soon

anybody know how much shipping to bris is? (I know I could sign up, figured I'd ask)

  • would you happen to know what the Costco Dr Pepper uses? cane or corn?

    • With CostCo being a US company, you could assume that they'd just import the US version, which would be HFCS - as most US soft drinks use.

    • -2

I'd say it would be corn, according to the Dublin Dr Pepper website, it says they can't distribute it very far:

was just in costco syd this past weekend and had a look, it was fructose.

$29 a case… dont recall what size, probably 24 cans

    • Nobody brings in the Dublin Dr Pepper Besides USAFoods.

  • No per kilo rate on shipping for Melbourne, so it's just straight 7 bucks :D sweetums.

  • Just a heads up…last time i ordered 2 slabs it was closer to $20 shipping to Sydney (including their $2.50 handling fee)…even though they "estimate" $15. I dunno why they do that, it's pretty sneaky. I assume $15 is for 1 slab.

Anyways, doesn't matter to me coz I love this stuff! (not the high fructose corn syrup stuff they sell at Costco)

      FYI order update to sydney

      2 X Dr Pepper Special (1 slab (24 cans)) - Please See Description - best by Mar 2012 @ $22.00 = $44.00

      Order Total: $44.00
      + Shipping: $15.80
      + Handling: $2.50
      TOTAL ORDER COST: $62.30

    • It's just the way the system works - We try to get the best rate for you on postage possible and the estimator tries to get closest rate to what it costs us to ship it.

      It should change soon

      • thanks for the update, hope it does change soon…it's been this way for a while now.
ie. quoting cheaper than the real amount. it's a bit misleading when you guys know it'll be more expensive to ship…why quote cheaper in the first place?

  • Anyway to check the expiry date? Just that I may not able to finish 48 cans in a month or two. Thanks.

    • +2

It said they expire in Mar or May 2012. Can't remember now but it was a month starting with "M". The website seems to be down to check.

I'm guessing it is like Vegemite. If you didn't grow up on the stuff you wont't get the taste. But yeah, it tastes like crap.

      • my question is why are you tasting crap?

        • -2

Already said……in brackets…."not that I've tasted crap before"

Wow…so many negs to my comment

You eat pieces of shit breakfast!?

          …no…

I can say something like this about at least half of the things on ozbargain, not understanding WHY someone would buy something like that… But hey, people are different, someone may like something I hate and vice versa. Get used to it :-) And once you get used to it just don't shout your preferences everywhere. This is pure personal preference, not a fact. Like complaining about a computer colour rather than processor or memory.

      • Thats why I still said it was a good price.

And yes, people do complain about the colour of a computer. I'm sure plenty of people would be commenting on a bright purple pink poker dotted computer being sold.

  • Shipped already! Awesome!

    Damn you free refills!

I love Dr. Pepper, especially with kebabs.

  • Do they do the cherry variant?

Hope these are compliant to Australia food labelling laws - otherwise it's illegal for them to sell em … buyer beware !

    • +1

I've ordered them before. They're fine.
I think usafoods is fairly big, they have a store in Melbourne, so I'm sure it would be quite legal.
Regardless, its soft drink not pharmaceuticals or something
