Best Affordable Wi-Fi Extender

We have a TP Link wifi extender I think it's the N300 (not 100%) but definitely doesnt read the 5ghz internet and in general sucks a fair bit.

Are there any wifi extenders that are quite good and can extend the 5ghz stream as well?

    Get wifi mesh instead

    • yep tenda mw3 or similar are pretty cheap these days

      • There was a deal for three MW3s for $100 recently.

The general consensus on this issue is to not buy extenders, as these just siphon of part of your current connection with little benefit. Instead invest in a Mesh Wifi Router system if you want to improve coverage. Will cost more but you'll get much more bang for your buck.

I know it cost a bit but I have google mesh (version 1) and I get wifi on my whole 700sq+ property, in a double brick home, where it was very patchy before.

I just got the Deco M5 3 pack for a 40 square home, it’s brilliant.

  • In my home I've got a Netgear Orbi router+satellite system, which is pricey but works brilliantly. For my backyard I didn't need something so complex (or expensive), so I bought a Netgear EX6150. Take a look into that.

There are loads of cheaper Chinese brands but stay clear if you value your security.

    • I actually dont mind my security at all. Any good chinese brands?
