At DoorDash we are actively working to ensure the safety of customers and Dashers while supporting the local businesses who are at the centre of the communities we serve.
In the face of uncertainty, restaurants are having to adjust how they operate, and we’d like to share some of the initiatives we are taking to promote the health and safety of our platform users while supporting these businesses through this challenging time:
- Delivery fees waived: As of today, we are removing delivery fees on orders from our restaurant partners to help them generate higher sales while offering more selection to our customers.
- Zero pickup commission for restaurants: We are waiving commission fees on all pickup orders placed through DoorDash so customers can spend less time in the store.
- Deliveries are moving to no-contact by default: “Leave it at my door” will become the default drop-off option for deliveries. You’ll see a new Drop-off menu at checkout with this selected but you can also still select “Hand it to me” if you prefer. You can still leave additional instructions you’d like the Dasher to know such as an apartment number or more detail on where to place your order. - Providing financial assistance to Dashers who are sick: To ensure Dashers who are quarantined or diagnosed with COVID-19 can focus on recovering and minimising social contact, we’re providing assistance to eligible Dashers. We are also in the process of shipping more than 1 million sets of free hand sanitizer to Dashers.

IMO, Door Dash is the best of the food delivery places.
