Firestick 4k Alexa Not Working

Hi All,
Recently imported a Firestick 4k. I know they aren't supported in Aus but I thought I'd still take the gamble.
To my suprise the Alexa button the remote doesn't work. Is this just a me problem or does this happen for all imported Firestick 4K's

    Perhaps you might find something useful here

    From the above thread:

    For Alexa to work on your US 4K stick, you need to sign in with a US Amazon account. This means you can't watch Prime content on the 4K stick if you have AU Prime. If you want to watch AU Prime on the 4K stick, you have to sign in with an AU Amazon account, then you lose Alexa. I use 4K stick with a US Amazon account, and watch Prime via Android TV app. VPN's won't work to get around this.
