Where U get your info. Says on the box
        and description made in china

      • +6

It clearly says made in China in the photo.
Jiangyin was where everyone was buying machines and making masks during the initial pandemic. I'd be cautious unless these are made by a reputable manufacturer

      • This is made in China and never uses the KN95 rule in Korea.
It is not made in Korea.

    AU$17.99 is shipping…
if you try to buy two boxes to use the free shipping then the price reverts back to original $67.35 per box.

These are prob fake kn95s as they have earloops and kn95s have ties, here’s a breakdown of ways to help check.
    https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/usernotices/counterfeitResp.…

    • They seem real. Never had anything fake from iHerb.

-We are buying these masks through Landsberg-orora, a multinational U.S.- Australian distributor with offices in China.

      • They're probably real (not approved by NIOSH, but that's an American OSH certifier), but it does seem curious they mention Landsberg-orora, who are a packaging company not a distributor. Landsberg-orora mention some PPE on their website, but they seem to solely supply Moldex (which these masks are not).

Wrong. The NIOSH notice only refers to SDH (a particular manufacturer in Shanghai) masks as being counterfeit if they have loops. In fact the page you link to is not a breakdown of ways to check counterfeits, but an explicit list of counterfeits.

      • +1

The link I included has a reference to specific fakes and also the statement “ Signs that a respirator may be counterfeit:” followed by a list of potential “Signs that a respirator may be counterfeit:” it did not use the work breakdown but I wrote that so i didn’t have to type so much, so much for that, for all I know they may be real but I doubt it, if your purchasing masks that you specifically want to be n95/kn95/p2 and they are coming in what was prior to this craziness an uncommon format for that product that isn’t produced by a company on an easily found approval list of a gov somewhere then there is a real possibility that there is an issue with them, the financial benefit to selling fake masks at this time would be massive to producers if they wanted to go down that line, if your purchasing these for the purpose of having masks then have at it that’s exactly what they are, if your getting them because of the rating of kn95 take it with a grain of salt

        • No, you don't specifically want it to be N95/KN95/P2. That's applicable to respirators for filtering out particulate matter (i.e. bushfire smoke). That's so January. We're in July now, where all you need as a member of the general public going about your day is a face covering capable of stopping you from expelling rather large droplets into the air. Even in Victoria, you can use a scarf to meet the government requirements.

Mask requirements are for if you are an asymptomatic carrier, not for stopping symptomatic carriers from infecting you (which even an N95 mask won't do, because the virus can enter your system via your eyes which are not covered too).

For a medical professional who is exposed to known positive cases, these are simply one of many precautions they take that combined protect them - and funnily enough one of their precautions is having the patient wear a face covering too.

@[Deactivated]: I fully agree with that and I never said anything about needing/having to use kn95/n95/p2, the masks I’m personally using are not the equivalent of those because I’m unable to maintain the required seal to make it fully effective and in the situation I’m in for most of my waking hours there would be no point anyway, my comments are in relation to what the rating for the product is and the high price per unit for what i see as as suspect item, if I was in a position where getting a mask of that grade was important to me for whatever reason I would be putting in effort to ensure what I got was what I needed, with these maybe, maybe not, as I did say if your getting them as a mask that’s exactly what they are, if your getting them due to the kn95 you may or may not be getting you money’s worth.

have a look at the comments on iherb, 1 user found holes in their mask

In China only KN95 respirators from 3m and honeywell can be sold for that high price. 3M retailers sold them around $2 for one w/ valve and $1.5 for one w/o exhalation valve. All others can be found with a very low price, probably $10 for 30 pcs.

  • -7

    Says made in China

  • Gov’t now saying don’t use ones with valves cos if you’ve got the virus you’ll spread it when you breath out. At the same time the only masks that stop you getting the virus are p2/ n95. What to do?

    • +2

If you have a mask with a valve, were a surgical mask over the top. This will stop you from spreading anything, whilst the P2 protects you from getting anything.

      • I’m working in construction. I think it might be hard to breath having 2 masks on for 10hrs.

Some States in US corona numbers are increasing with the use of masks. You could say the same with Vic. The numbers have averaged or gone up with masks in vic…..

    • +2

Has it been two weeks since they were mandated? It takes time for measures to be reflected in the numbers.

      • Its been months in some lefty states in US and now they are getting very bad numbers with masks, look at today, a record and every Victorian has a mask on …….. they dont know what virus they are working with here, April they said masks are not needed unless flu simtems now every one needs one…..
