Corsair Virtuoso SE Wireless Gaming Headset $282

As the heading states, Corsair Virtuoso wireless gaming headset $282 at Amazon au. The product image and product series state that this is the SE (Special Edition) model however up on googling the item model number it appears this is the non-SE? Just wanted to see what everyone else thinks about this as the SE for $282 would be an awesome price!

There are 2 choices to choose from on the Amazon site. One is for the standard at $282 and the SE is $329. Difference between the two doesn't seem to be much…..

The main differences between the two are the mic and the side lighting. The SE includes a 9.5mm mic, but in most scenarios your teammates are unlikely to notice the difference. However, while both mics are described as broadcast quality, the SE will do a better job of picking up the low end during streams. The side lighting is… interesting. Both models have the logo on the side with LED lighting but the SE uses "micro-perforation" which allows it to change color and do other customizations; it looks like a tiny screen, albeit one shaped like a tiny ship. It's cool in concept and fun to stare at, but ultimately underwhelming given how tiny it is.

    • Thanks for the reply, I've seen a few reviews on youtube and they all rate this headset highly. Given that this is the non-SE model, I'm still deciding between the virtuoso non-SE and something like an Arctis 7 at $200, is it worth the $80 price difference? I'm upgrading mainly for the wireless capabilities and my primary uses are Call of Duty and Discord

      • If your thinking long term the CV may still be worth the extra. Has a full metal headband and arm over speaker no plastic. Not sure about the Arctis 7 design. If it has the same build the go for 7 as cheaper. IMO

        • I think the SE only has the full metal headband, the non-SE has some plastic bits to it

@sssboi: I think you will find the non SE version still has a metal band and metal connection arm to the cups. The outer cups are only plastic not the metal ones compared to the SE. Mind you I don't get RGBs on head sets as you don't really see yourself. Its more for streaming I suppose for your viewers. The SE due to the perforated pattern is very subtle. My son doesn't even have them on to save battery. You can also stil play whilst charging if battery runs out which is good. FYI

  • I have the Arctis 7 headset and they are light and comfortable to use. The mic is ok but the directional sound isn't that great. Which for me is critical as I play a lot of FPS games online (COD, PUBG) I'm comparing my Arctis 7 to my Hyper X cloud 2 wired headphones which are far better sound and mic. I heard good things about the Corsair Virtuoso, they would be my pick over the Arctis 7. That or Sennheiser GSP 370 series or maybe the Astro A50s but then you would be looking at $350 upwards

  • SE edition code CA-9011180-AP

  • Thanks guys, ended up going for the Virtuoso's
