Anyone know if I can fit a 26cm GPU in my Optiplex 990 MT?

Wanting to buy a RX580, only problem is that it might be too long for my Optiplex 990 MT (biggest version).

Anybody know the max size GPU I can fit in this PC case WITHOUT having to mod it? Thanks, can't seem to find any straight answer online

Edit: Have a 700W PSU installed already

  • I think the Power Supply will be your limit with the card

Forgot to mention I've installed a 700W PSU

  • better to compare dimensions of the card with the casing, both can be found online. Casing Page 19 on the link but better to manually measure by yourself where GPU goes.

I have a Acer S6610G MT casing with GTX1060 (25.2mm) card without an issue lengthwise.
But I had some issues with the 6pin power connector while closing the lid, had to flatten the wires little bit and keep some bubble wrap for cushioning.
So, better to have a card with 6 or 8 pin connectors in the other direction (perpendicular to the lid).

Also check whether you have a suitable power supply (as per your manual, OEM one is 265W with 12VA/17A; 12VB/9A) upgrade plan. In my case, I had to buy a SFX power supply as there wasn't enough space for a ATX power supply inside the case.

ATX ? seems like 990 MT is little bigger and has a ATX power supply.

        Check page 19 of the manual for MT for "S Y S T E M B O A R D C O N N E C TO R M A X I M U M A L L O W A B L ED I M E N S I O N S"

        PCIex16 Slots (BLUE)
        Height (inches/centimeters) = 4.376 / 11.115
        Length (inches/centimeters = 7.4 / 24.13*
        * Card length can be longer than standard Half-Length Card but cannot be a Full-Length Card

So, I think you can't use a 26 cm card then.
