FAQs
Q How long have you been importing tea for?
A Purematcha was established in September 2018. We have been importing and selling Matcha tea and accessories since September 2018

Q Do you have a shop front?
A No, our operations are solely online. We are Sydney based. You can purchase our products directly from our website and we also sell on eBay

Q Why can I buy Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha on eBay for much cheaper?
A Yes this is true. But beware of cheap matcha from eBay. Most cheap variants are not actually from Japan. Some are just any old green tea leaves that haven't been shade-grown nor stone milled and picked from a harvest a long time ago. Check the packaging date as well, as Matcha generally has a 12 month shelf life.

Q Is this Australian stock or drop-shipped?
A This is Australian warehouse stock. Our matcha is packaged and labelled directly from the farm so there's no double handling. The matcha sold with this set was packaged on 22nd July 2020.

Q The utensils in the tea set, where are they made?
A Whisk, bamboo scoop, whisk stand, tea sieve are made in China. The AMAYA Chawan matcha bowl is hand made in Mino JAPAN.

We accept Paypal, Afterpay, Laybuy and Shopify payments.

This seems way overpriced. I can assemble the set by ordering the various items for probably half your "sale" price, and I'm being generous. How about providing a real bargain and not an ad?

    • Thank you for your valuation.

To be fair though, can you actually curate a set from Australian suppliers with the offer posted as you said you could?

      Please compare apples with apples.

Yes, you can buy matcha powder far cheaper than what we are selling, but I assure you it won't be organic and ceremonial grade from Japan. Let alone, independently tested in Australia by our own government-approved testing agencies for heavy metals and radiation.

The Chawan bowl in the set is a ceramic bowl made in Japan. Not china. It is an authentic Japanese Chawan and those who appreciate Japanese handmade ceramics will appreciate this chawan bowl. I could curate a set for much cheaper using a China made chawan clone. But the quality is nowhere as good as this one.

The purple bamboo whisk in this set- T2 sells this item alone for $50 - https://www.t2tea.com/en/au/teawares/brewing-tools/t2-ceremo…

      than you.

  • Totally worth it…. ordered 19 for me and my friends.

Imagine the cost of flying to Japan and drinking tea. Saved 20 hours return and thousands of dollars buying this.

  • What about this being cheaper and sold by you guys?? Surely some snacks + an ebook can't be worth an extra $20, let alone being a "bonus".

    • This is a completely different set.

      • Chawan bowl sold in the AMAYA set is of higher value.
      • The purple whisk and scoop is of higher value in the AMAYA set
      • The "Snacks" are free in this offer which are not included in the Etsy set.
  • holy molly, the other similar posts got few upvotes but pretty sure if its sockpuppeting, afterall the first 2 were unpublished due to sockpuppeting..
