What is the proper name for motherboards with the PCIe connector mounted at the 'top' but planar to the rest of the board?
I think that a) they're cool, because they're different and b) they would provide heaps of cooling options in a custom slimline case. But without knowing what they're specified as, I have no idea what to search for!
Not sure about the naming. It could be Thin mini- ITX?
How does it work? It wouldn't fit a standard mini-ITX case or a standard graphics card?
