Any current deals on Garmin Fenix 5X/ 5X Plus/ 5 Plus? It looks like they have dropped as low as ~$500 in the past but are currently just about double that.

For the cost of these devices, if you're using it as a smart watch I think the extra uplift to the Fenix 6 is worthwhile.
Longer battery life, will get all updates etc.
FWIW my Fenix 6x Sapphire ended up costing me around $700 because I was able to use the Kogan Credit card deal from last year ($500 Kogan credit).
I don’t think you’ll find the 5x at Rebel or JB hifi anymore unless Garmin has another batch to clear in their warehouse.
Rebel still has the Fenix 6 for $599.
If you are after maps or music then maybe look at the Quatix 6 as it has maps and music and is $999 rrp like the base fenix 6.
The active screen size on the fenix 6 series is a lot better than the 5 series aswell.
I think the 5X is the best value if you can get it discounted. Cheapest new one on ebay is around $700 at the moment. Who knows if it will be discounted again soon.
Until Garmin get their shit together and get over this ransomware hack, I would not be buying anything from Garmin. You may get the device, then then be unable to update it, or download any data from it.
