Bosch WAW32640 Washing Machine Noises

Hi all,
Our washing machine is making a really weird noise and was wondering if anyone knows what it is?
I’ve posted 3 videos in the n

It makes the noise in all different parts of a wash cycle.
Machine is 3 years old so out of warranty unless it’s the motor I think.

  • Sounds like it's still working.

I basically have the same washing machine as you (slightly different settings, but its a series 8) - every time I have noises/issues its because theres stuff clogged in the pump. Just gotta open it up, drain the water and pull everything out. In saying this, the first video didnt sound like the pump, but its worth checking.

Edit: Based on the time that it has left in the cycle, i'd almost guarantee that it's the water pump. Probably just full of hair or paper or a little bit of plastic

  • By no means an expert but have fixed some minor problems with WM over the years. Firstly check and clean out the pump as rambutann suggested. Should be a guide to do that in the manual/online. Second option would be check out the motor/belt. You will have to take off some panels. See if the belt is worn, there may be some belt debris on the bottom if its been rubbing. You could also run the machine and see if the belt is slipping (FYI it will be very loud with panels off). For careful though because taking panels off will expose live AC and spinning machinery obviously.

  • Sounds like the motor isn't overly happy…… Even at 3 years, push under your consumer rights for a repair. Bosch should last longer than 3 years.

    Are you missing a sock?

  • I spoke wit DJs today and they just pushed me off to Bosch so I called them and they said it’s out of warranty so I need to pay for the repairs.
I tried the statutory warranty and they aren’t interested.
Will get it fixed through a repair agent then I’ll try claim that I guess.

    • how did you go?

I purchased a new water pump from Bosch and installed it myself.
        Cost me $80.
        No issues now.
Was a pain to change as they have changed the design slightly so I also had to replace the housing the the pump mounts to which added another 30 or so minutes to the job.
