Quick reminder - the respirators these are used with usually include valves so you breathe in through the P2 filter, and breathe out directly to the atmosphere.

They do NOT help prevent you spreading coronavirus to other people, and are thus not compliant with the Victorian mask mandate unless you disable the valves.

    • Good point. Thanks for the reminder.

    • Pretty sure the Victorian government said you could use any face covering… Didn't have to be a P2 respirator but a scarf would do.

In any case I'm not sure how many people would walk around with the 3M respirator that this is for…

      • I’ve seen customers wearing them at Aldi. The checkout dude tried some small talk but got no response.

    • Also a reminder that the "P" in "P2" is for "particulate". These filters are to protect you from breathing in air containing dust or other particles (particulates). It WILL NOT protect you or others from Coronavirus. Yes, it will be better than no mask as any mask will potentially prevent inhalation or spreading of respiratory droplets, but it is not it's designed purpose.

      • I use them for spray painting and other work around the house.
Karen says you don't need a mask for anything else

Not entirely correct. While no facial covering is 100% effective at "preventing inhalation or spreading of respiratory droplets", these P2 filters are rated to the same standard as N95 masks which in fact provide superior protection compared to the more common surgical face masks.

  • My order was cancelled due to insufficient stock :(

  • Got mine today. Looks really bad quality compared to the filter cartridges I already had.
Hopefully it performs better than it looks. Honestly looks like it's only worth 80c
