65" 4k TV - LG Nano91 or Sony X9500H?

Some really good prices on eBay at the moment, would like to pull the trigger in the next few days. So, which of these two excellent-looking TVs should I put in the lounge room?

For user experience and app upgrades, android wins…

  • I say avoid the LG Nano series due to the IPS panel. The X950H is an excellent panel with better software.

  • Definitively get the X950H

I have last years model, the 65" X950G. Got it for $1800 a few weeks ago, was display model and last one left.

Awesome panel, great picture quality, and Android TV is very responsive and a pleasure to use. Hooked up a Sonos Beam for better sound though as the built-in speakers are only passable for watching the news, not much else.

  • The Sony.
Particularly for ongoing system upgrades/app support.

If you're planning on getting a new console, you may want to consider the KD65X9000H for hdmi 2.1.

    • ^ This! The X9000 is actually better than the X9500 if you're getting a PS5.

      • I can't find this model on sale anywhere. Is it coming out later in 2020?

        • Yes, it's expected next month.

I’m waiting for the Sony to drop to below $2k. $3k is too much for an LED tv. I can get an OLED for that.

  • I would go with LG, as I've heard horror stories about Sony's support on TV issues.

    • I've had no issues, they replaced my OLED with the newer model quickly when it developed some faint lines.

  • Havent heard many good reviews with Sony's customer service. My LG TV started having issues after 3 years and it was replaced within warranty even though they only have a 12 month warranty.

I ended up getting the NANO91 65" Tv as a replacement. Never had a nanocell tv before so fingers crossed for that bit lol
