Xbox gaming help (warzone dropouts)

Hey guys, with a lot of people getting some free time I thought I'd ask for some help from the tech gurus.
I don't often play xbox but when I do I just play COD Warzone really. But for the last few months or so I am struggling hard to get in to a game at all, and more so recently, randomly booted in to the game for no reason.
Most of the time I get booted is at pre game or any load screen ( once the lobby has finished, when you jump from the plane, or if I get in to a game, when I die/after the gulag)
Only seems to be warzone specifically. Never had a drama with multiplayer.

What I have done;
I have used a different xbox in my house, same problem.
Different xbox account
Different TV+HDMI
Used my game at a different house and had no problems.
Connected my xbox to phone 4g hotspot and same problems.
Full console reset.

I have nbn 25(although had the same problem at 50) with ABB HFC. At one point I had double nat but have changed that to keep it open.
Spoken to xbox.microsoft help but got nothing.
The error code I get for xbox help isn't even a code.

I can't log on to my netgear router settings page for whatever reason to check firewalls etc.
Could a while ago but the passwords never matched up.

Any ideas at all please?
It's hardly important but very frustrating when I want to wind down.

Thank you

ABB uses CGNAT - not sure if that will affect XBOX Live but I know it caused headaches for my mate on PSN when trying to join parties. Might be worth looking into whether or not that is the culprit. If so it's as easy as calling ABB to have it removed but when I did that I still had issues accessing my FTP server so I just went the $5 static IP route. Not sure if using your phone 4G having the same issues would rule that out though.

OP, make sure your external IP is not in the ABB CGNAT range to be sure. https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/aussie_broadband_cgnat

    • I've had them change something a while back when I was unable to join party chat, unsure if it's the same thing but i'll give them a call and see what they say.
      Thank you

Go to whatismyip.com and check My Public IPv4 is: xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa

If xxx is 100 then you are on CGNAT. If it is 180, 121, 117 or 119, then you are not on CGNAT.

  • Using WiFi or ethernet cable?

You could try resetting the Netgear router to defaults. Turn on UPnP and make sure the Xbox NAT is showing as Open. I've found that CoD can show as Moderate NAT even though the Xbox shows as Open NAT. I put my Xbox in a DMZ for CoD to show Open NAT (or you could make sure all the ports are open).

    • Once I google what all that means I'll give it a crack! haha
I've needed the internet but once I can go without I'll reset it and try it.
Been using ethernet , but also tried wireless ( and then hotspot)
Seems to be a semi common problem but mostly on PC which can update in ways I can't.

Do you get an error screen that has a code that starts with Hk:s or something like that?

If yes the way I fixed this (on PS4) was to turn off the setting that allowed a game to be held in suspension when the console went into sleep mode. I can still put the PS4 into sleep mode between gaming sessions but since it completely closes the game I need to start the game from scratch each time I power it back up. Not really that much longer to wait and have not been kicked from a game since. Modern Warfare must not like going in and out of suspension.

    • I can't remember the the exact code but it's not one of xbox's codes.
I've got it in quick power up mode so I'll change that and see how it goes.
      Thanks mate

    • Almost seems to have made it worse haha
