I tried to activate a Kogan sim last night and it wouldn’t accept my Aus Post prepaid MasterCard. I use to use the Aus Post prepaid Visa Card without issue. I have never used this card with Kogan before so it wouldn’t be because of over use. Has anyone successfully activated a Kogan sim with a different prepaid credit card?

To get the Mastercard you need to register it with ID, just like you need ID to activate a sim. It can always be traced back to me lol
I’ve never used a debit card online, Vodafone were able to do the $1 preauthorisation and Kogan would accept my old Aus Post card.
Why prepaid? I just use my debit card and remove auto payment later.
I think I’m paranoid about using my debit card online after all the horror stories I’ve read. I know it’s probably over the top but it’s the way I feel.
Don’t they still keep some type of record of your card though? I’ve read on here before of people saying that they ban your card if you use it 5 times in a certain time period. To do that they would have to keep your details.
It is not showing in the payment details page after removing auto payment (not sure whether they keep in their databases though). I am sim hopping (every 90 days) for a long time but still had no issues. But I don't keep much in my debit card account and only transfer from my savings account when needed for added security.
Yeah that’s smart, I might have to do something similar if I can’t find a new prepaid card that’ll work. Thanks for the advice.
@Any thing: You can use a separate ING Everyday account (no monthly account keeping fees) and use its debit card for solely online payments by transferring money from savings when needed. Works like a prepaid card :D

Zip pay can generate single use MasterCard for verification purpose. I have used it for Belong and Amaysim.
I still think Coles Gift MasterCard mentioned above can't.

I keep a couple of cards with a few dollars on them in case 1 doesn't work, (been used too many times) :-)

Thought VISA and Mastercard have fraud protection? If you CAN PROVE unathorised transactions they will refund you

No prepaid cards allowed as it requires $1 authorisation. Better use a low balance debit card in this case.
