SteelSeries SPECTRUM 4XB
The SteelSeries Spectrum 4xb is a wired headset designed for Xbox 360®. At a glance it’s built to offer great sound at an affordable level.

AMAZING COMFORT
The comfortable XL-sized, hear-through cloth ear cushions fit comfortably around the ear, offering you a great audio experience while treating your ears like royalty. It’s so comfortable that it can be used for multiple hours at a time. Even if you wear glasses.

AND IT SOUNDS GREAT
40mm speakers will help you pinpoint the direction of noises and movement throughout the game. Whether it’s gunfire, music, or even the sound of someone getting pwned to pieces, the sound is incredible. But they do more than just make games sound great, they help you win. You’ll hear everything worth hearing.

THE STEELSERIES AUDIOMIXER
The SteelSeries Spectrum AudioMixer connects the SteelSeries Spectrum 4xb to the Xbox 360® and provides independent audio and voice volume controls. The independent volume controls offer maximum power over what you hear. You no longer have to waste time muting other players.

FULL CONTROL
Since the SteelSeries AudioMixer is attached to your Xbox 360® controller, it is really easy to operate. You have the same level of control over your controller as you’ve always had, our AudioMixer doesn’t interfere with normal operations in any way. We’ve made it really easy to have even more control; now you have independent volume controls, microphone controls and access to LiveMix, all within your thumbs reach.

STEELSERIES LIVEMIX
The secret sauce. SteelSeries LiveMix offers you a quick-button option to improve the balance of Xbox LIVE® chat and in-game audio, so that voice communication is mixed and amplified over the sounds of gunfire and explosions. SteelSeries LiveMix allows you to hear everything that matters in team-based games; you simply click one button to activate this feature. We will balance the levels between Xbox LIVE® chat and in-game audio on-the-fly, as the game develops around you, making it easier than ever before for you to hear your teammates.

NO HEADACHE
Best of all, LiveMix works without having to increase the volume of the headset and risk headaches or hearing damage. Yay!

HIDDEN MICROPHONE SYSTEM
The SteelSeries signature retractable microphone system is also featured in the Spectrum 5xb, providing additional convenience and durability. The microphone is unidirectional and delivers clear voice communication for Xbox LIVE®. Everyone will hear you loud and clear. Unless you choose to mute. But that’s up to you.

  • Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that the audio out of the 360 Controller was mono and 2.5mm plug not 3.5mm like this one

    • +1

That's the beauty of these headsets - they come with the Audio Mixer which plugs into your Xbox controller, which then plugs into the headset.

  • why is the shipping showing $19(without insurance) ???

    • Have you typed in the promocode?

      • yeah i did put the code before. Anyway, its working now. Just ordered it. Thanks heaps, really needed to buy this. +1 from me.

  • Alot of marketing pizzaz regarding this product. I suppose they might go alright if you want a headset with strong xbox integration. I'll just keep using my RCA splitter for audio with a regular headset, lol.

  • Would it be overkill to use these just for Skype?

  • +1

connecting these headphones seems to be a nightmare

    • Usually a cord runs to the controller purely for mic control no matter what setup. This bulky audiomixer allow volume control too. I don't know why they just don't have a in line volume control and piss off the audiomixer

Steelseries make some good headsets but I would much rather have some headphones and a clip on mic. This setup would look like: RCA audio > 3.5mm headphone splitter > headphones. Then a mic cord > xbox control.

The audiomixer is just far to bulky for my liking. Issue with my suggestion is there is no volume control. Cheap solution would be plugging the 3.5mm splitter into some speakers then the headset into the headphone jack of the speakers. The better solution would be a Astro mixamp but that would be too much money for ozbargainers

      • To understand the need for the AudioMixer, from here: http://www.co-optimus.com/review/597/page/2/steel-series-spe…

Here is where the included Steel Series Spectrum AudioMixer comes into play.

This little device is quite handy. The Steel Series Spectrum AudioMixer is what sets these apart from the pack. There are four features on the AudioMixer, and they all work very well. There is a mic mute switch, which does exactly what you think it would. There are also separate dials for voice and game volume. These are very useful for balancing game chatter.

So you're playing Halo: Reach and you may have already muted 'N00BP00P3R 69', but 'Infinite Socrates' is expounding Confucius-ian game advice. With two flicks of the dials, the game noise can be raised or lowered to where you want it, and you can clearly hear your teammate politely say: "Rocket launchers are not appropriate for close quarters combat. Please stop using them in hallways."

The last AudioMixer feature is the Steel Series self proclaimed 'secret sauce:' the LiveMix. When this feature is on the little elves inside take control of the audio mixing, increasing the volume of voice chatter while decreasing game sound effects volume automatically. It actually works quite well.

  • How does these go against the Plantronics GameCom 367
