    William Klein

    Calvins Brother?

  • +2

From the reviews photo, it says that these are actually branded "longtu" not William Klein?

    • +3

It isn't William Klein, Just some rebranded random Chinese company

      • +1

How is the quality compared to TINAWELLS?

From the review pictures that isn't TINAWELLS, Both rebranded random ones and probably from the same manufacturer

          • @jayboi: Same company I think there were issues a while back that the masks were not in box

          • @jayboi: No, TINAWELLS has own medical factory system, ever never buy face mask from a Garment factory like William Klein’s supplier, LONGTU garment co Ltd.

        • +2

Bought two boxes TINAWELLS, but received LONGTU.

          • @jimojr: It’s sad. If you ask William why not Tinawells boxes come, they might answer” because the manufacturer change the package”. This lie is very beautiful.

  • +4

Received yesterday from previous deal. Generic box. They have not provided certification cert to the OzBargain community even though say have it

  • +6

    Buyers beware - Longtu

  • +4

    Previous William Klein mask deals.
Same song-and-dance claims of the masks being "FDA approved".

  • Tired of seeing these kind of masks without any details of BFE, PFE and VFE. To be honest these kind of masks won't gives you any protection.

    • +3

Will any of these type of masks? They are not for your protection, they are for others (I was led to believe).

    • +5

Unless you are performing open heart surgery, these will suffice for public use where social distancing is being observed.

      • There's even questions about the usefulness of masks during surgery, although a lack of evidence is hardly a reason to throw the long accepted practice out and I'd prefer my doctors nurses etc to wear them if I was going under the knife. Pre-Covid-19 At least one hospital in the USA relaxed the rule so that "peripheral" theatre staff aren't required to don surgical masks during surgery.

  • I bought the bond reusable ones is more promising, not sure if any good.

  • -2

Just buy them then go on Amazon chat after you get them as they will be crap, and they will refund and tell you to keep them, as fulfilled by Amazon.

  • Here is packaging and masks:

      Even says Longtou

You might as well put the ozbargain logon on it and say they are ozbargain masks!!!

        • Hi5!! There we go!!

Gotta get scotty from marketing to approve this!!

      • William Klein buy face mask from a China Garments Factory “LongTu”. Brand is “LongTu” print on box and stickers inside the box. I don’t think William Klein has the Authority to sell “LONGTU”

This person owns a lot of companies

      • Actually only one company. A few business names. So what? They obviously import stuff and sell it. Since when is that a crime?

        • I don't think crime was ever mentioned.

seeing a lot of rebranded low quality masks for sale these days…where do i get actual proper level 3 surgical face masks from?

  • +1

They protect you from the $200 fine!

  • +2

Bought the Tinawells one a while back and recieved Longtu ones, asked them about it and said manufacture changed box, gave me the cert documents(CE/FDA/Testing) to, FDA one is just user made with details about the mask.

    • So bait and switch? Buying "Tinawells" getting Longtu.

      • Ozbargain ain’t Ozscamming hence I had to neg so that people would scroll down and read the comments…

        • +3

yep these are not really good masks. people should do research before buying

So I think I have figured it out. Tinawells and William Klein are not manufacturers. They are both importers of longtu face masks. They are not rebranding or doing anything wrong, besides their listing is a little confusing because they say Tinawells or William Klein respectively but that was ironically to avoid confusion because they were both selling the same longtu product on Amazon.

Putting up there ABN info doesn't really do anything for me, not sure about you.

        • +1

What I'm saying is even ozbargain can register their own mask info TGA xxxxx number use the tongtu masks and put a stamp on it saying they are ozbargain masks.

Sell them for $10 a box.

Why though? Why not just say they are tongtu masks and for $10 box?

          Some sort of deception?

      • Thank you Turd, this is our Info. I am Louis

    • +1

This is because William Klein sells their own face mask using our brand and photo.
FDA only gives certificates to Medical device products. He is selling Non Medical device, how does he get FDA? Absolutely a fake FDA certificate. Please report to TGA Australia.
Selling fake medical device, especially provide fake evidence is illegal and need to be put into Jail!
      Please report to TGA. Please!

        • Yes my lawyer is taking action next week. But I am alone, The more consumers report, the more TGA will take importance.

Everything in the Amazon description rang true for me…

Bought these in a previous deal (Fulfilled by Amazon).

Straps are comfortable (none have broken), and metal nose piece holds shape well. Mask material seem adequate. Fit is good.

I don't care whether they are branded longtu or william klein, they're all the same generic chinese masks, I mean, what are people really expecting, lol?

If people want qualified masks with various certifications (i.e. TGA), go elsewhere and buy those that claim that?

    • +2

Fulfilled by Amazon - Just means user send the mask boxes to amazon to fulfill. Amazon store and send out the packets to your address from them directly.

      • I'm confused.

        Who are William Klein?

Is this Amazon seller impersonating another company?

Is that why people are angry they are getting longtu branded masks?

        • +1

I think they think that william klein is a brand but it is one of the sellers trading names. So the seller puts william klien on there instead of tinwells because they had an identical listing with them. Now people get angry because it is longtu instead of william klien which isn't even a brand. Either way, they whinge that it is chinese branded and expect to get Australian made for $20. Go figure.

          • @dmbminaret: FYI I bought two boxes of these Aussie made masks..

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/556089

You see Aussie pharmacy isn't masquerading as AMD. Because they don't need to in order to sell the product.

If the product is good it will sell itself. No need for rebranding as your own.

            • +3

@Turd: So you're comparing a premium product with a budget product and slamming the budget product because you deem it inferior even though you have never bought it and tested for yourself. BMWs are way better than Kia's, sure, but there is a market for both. What if you simply can't afford $112 masks? One would be forced to go without and potentially spread the infection or cop a fine for not wearing anything.

The main problem with the rubbish you're peddling is that your link is for P2 masks. They are not surgical or non surgical. They are respirator masks. Big difference in price and functionality. Surgical masks (as I understand) are so you do not spit on others, respirator masks stop you breathing particles eg. dust. Apples & oranges friend.

            • +2

@Turd: $119.95 Plus delivery vs $20 and $0 for prime. We, certainly, aren’t comparing apples to apples here. If you read the description the premium product doesn’t indicate it blocks viruses either. The whole idea of wearing masks is to stop the wearer infecting other people so, if you are following the distance and hygiene standards, either mask will, probably, do. My answer is I keep moving, and keep out of crowds, when I’m outside the house. BTW, I went to Woollies, the other day, and the self service counters, that were working, were all in one corner. It is like the time in Ikea when they turned off the escalators and sent people up in the lift. These places need to understand what distancing means.

  • Worthless rebranded stuff. Trying to make a quick buck in the bandwagon

    • +2

Worthless to whom? Not the maker, nor the seller, nor most buyers I'd expect. That's capitalism for you. It has many obvious flaws but properly regulated it's light years ahead of most alternatives as far as I can see.

In this case it might help if Dutton actually walked his cheap talk about cracking down on profiteers. Guess he's too busy trying to right his ship after the numerous failures by his border protection numpties during this pandemic.

      • +1

Why rename them as William Klein? What is there to hide? Why not just sell them as tongtu mask branded.

Why go all the trouble of making a new name be it Tina Wells or William Klein?

It's like saying go buy Lepin when Lego is the original.

        • Don't ask me. I see what you're getting at but don't really see the problem as long as they're decent products and the seller is reliable. They look the same as some I had delivered today from Bit Pixel Tech

          • -3

@[Deactivated]: And that's why we really need an independent body to tests all these masks that are being imported as the public can be duped.

            • @Turd: The public shouldn't need regulators to keep them from being duped. We're already turning into a nanny state. Do your own research and make an informed purchase. Would you like the government to tell you that you can only purchase Huggies nappies because Costco ones are inferior compared to it? Choice should be left with the consumer unless there are health or safety implications. Just because these may or may not have some certificate doesn't necessarily prove anything. These accreditations cost money and are then passed on to the product price. A product without accreditations could be exactly the same at a cheaper price.

              • @dmbminaret: Problem is in a pandemic if a infected person uses these masks they risk infecting others if they use then.

Look how many unknown cases in Victoria.

So at he risk of public safety I think something should be done. No one cares about nappies as it doesn't affect the public.

We are in a global pandemic right now.

                • @Turd: Ideally the Fed govt would have secured adequate supplies of masks and sanitizer suitable for most public use. Because of the urgency they relaxed rules and let "the market" work it out. Russian roulette? Possiby but they would have acted under guidance from state and fed health experts.

There is no evidence that masks like these are ineffective afaik. They exist to reduce the odds of public transmission, not as a panacea. Most community transmission results from selfishness/total lack of care, people/businesses failing to observe distancing/stay at home rules, poor sanitizing habits, and infected people (often asymptomatic) not wearing masks of any sort.

    • +2

Pretty much the same as numerous other masks advertised on Ozb.

    • +2

What did you expect? They seem positioned well at this price point.

  • +1

Bought one box from eBay for $23.80 last week, Same here, Longtu instead of William Klein, it's ok for the cheap price.

  • +2

Thank your guys still care about TINAWELLS.
William Klein sells their own face mask under TINAWELLS amazon listing, using TINAWELLS brand and photo. That is why people thinks they bought TINAWELLS face mask, but received LONGTU from William Klein store. After two weeks report copyright infringement, Amazon removed William Klein from Amazon listing. But in the period of two weeks, they sold millions of fake or bad quality face masks to Australia consumers. FaceMask is so closed to people’s skin, mouth, very serious product. It is so dangerous so many people wearing their face masks…I cant imagine what will happen…. TINAWELLS group is having lawyers to sue them. Hereby if you can give help our provide some evidence, thank you so much!
William Klein is the trading company, they not only sells face mask, they sells everything like sex toy, books, musics…..TINAWELLS is focus on face masks, is one of the leading face mask manufacturer in the world, not only selling in Australia, but also in USA, Japan, and UK….TINAWELLS ever, never import the same quality products with William Klein supplier. Tinawells has his own factories which is medical registered, and TGA approved. Face mask is a serious products…TINAWELLS not only online selling, but also supply to lot of physical stores and big Australia companies…
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards
    Louis

      Please provide ARTG number.

      • +1

Hi! We have our ARTG numbers listed on our website, along with our TGA certificates. LONGTU is not a factory owned by Tinawells, we have no idea who they are and whether or not if their products are registered and qualified.

  • +1

Best avoid buying from William Klein.

Bought a box thinking they were Tinawells because William Klein used the Tinawells brand in their listing. However they arrived without any retail packaging or box.

The masks were just generic and packed all in one generic plastic bag.

  • Brought these 2 weeks ago and they arrived and same as everyone else receive some generic chinese Longtu branded masks.

Clearly being deceptive and providing full descriptions.

Package was poorly packaged and the box the mask as housed in was all damaged and many of the mask were squished at the sides.

Do not recommend buying, just save yourself the hassle.
