Recommendation for a Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

Hi,

I was just in the lookout for a Bagless Vacuum Cleaner from a reputable brand (not cordless).

  • Looking to spend around <$400
  • Preferably light weight <7kg, with good suction and comes with attachments
  • Will be primarily used at home

Thanks.

    Why do you want bagless?

Shark NV600 is on sale for $300 on their official site. We were convinced to buy the previous NV500 by a carpet cleaner who came to our house with one, couldn't believe how much it got out of the carpets and that was after we had already vacuumed.. The upright can be a little awkward to carry when doing hard floors.

Whatever bagless vacuum cleaner you purchase will end up on the pile out the front of your house for council clean-up.
The vacuum bag itself provides a layer of filtration to protect the electric vacuum motor from premature wear due to dust ingression and also prevents you from sucking in dead skin cells when you empty the machine.
Have a look at your next council cleanup.
Expensive Dyson and other bagless vacs are currently outnumbered by failed expensive fitness equipment.
    But have faith.
Soon the bagless vac will reign supreme.
It's what people have been told that they need. Just like the treadmill.
    But wait….there's more…………………………….

Been down the bagless route…and like you say, they are fodder for pick up day.
Go with a German made Miele bagged vacuum when you get sick of bagless.

      • I have a Miele cat & dog bagless, and it is great
I clean it out everynow & then with my air compressor and that,
keeps it as good as new; I have done it with all my other vacs through the decades

  • 2400W Japan Akitas Neon Multi Cyclonic Bagless Vacuum
I had this brand more than 2 years now.Still working good.Less than $100 from ebay.
    Why spend more ?

  • Brand new from retail shop
Electrolux Ultraflex ZUF4305AF can be had on sale for $400 at times(eletrolux doesn’t have great reputation though for reliability but YMMV)
Vax Ultra Pro Powerhead About $270 normally. Both are recommended by Choice magazine as capable vacuums.

On gumtree 3 or 4 year old Dyson can be had for $200-$300 range.
Would look at the Dyson dc54 or Dyson dc37c in canisters. The upright dc50 or small ball.

    An example - https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/st-johns-park/vacuum-cleaner…

But their are literally dozens that come up for sale on monthly basis on gumtree.

Just ask lots questions and try before you buy.

The poster above recommended the Shark that is very capable machine and at $300 would be very high on my list.
