Spend an extra $15 and get some from the local roaster. I beg you lads..

Made in italy - wonder when these were roasted :S

Or - if it has to be that cheap - but the Aldi ones. Even cheaper and roasted in Melbourne.

    • I Recommended my friend the Aldi Peru beans based off OzB and he said he had a weird problem with the crema apparently it floated to the bottom of his glass? but besides from that it tasted good is what he said…

wonder what that could of been from.

Southern hemisphere thing. In the north it floats to the top.

        • Nah nah not the Peruvian, that happens with Colombian beans

I quite like the Grinders Crema beans. Roasted in Abbotsford VIC and can be had for ~$20 on amazon. Full disclosure, I believe Grinders are now owned by the Coca Cola group.

    • I remember when grinders was boutique prices for coffee, now at $20kg that would make it commodity coffee prices.
Guess its what happens when someone like Coca Cola gets into the coffee business and buys up brands.

  • Amazon price matching coles and woolies again? S'pose the S&S makes it a better deal :/

  • Which budget grinder to buy? Stuck with pods as everything is just too expensive now.

wait until breville smart grinder is under $200 again …used to happen regularly but with covid and overseas supply chains who knows when that will be again.

      • I'm holding out for that but not expecting it soon. Just bought the kmart one which is crap but cheap until then (and I'll use it for other things once I get a breville).

Was using a hand grinder for espresso before now (and before that always buying pre-ground beans). The kmart one does a better job, despite not being a burr grinder.

    • Are you planning on making pour over or filter coffee? Willing to consider a hand grinder? If so can recommend the Hario Skerton

      • was thinking espresso =)

Okie then don't bother with a hand grinder in that case. Won't get the grinds fine enough

        • The ROK hand grinder will work for espresso. Never used it but it is highly recommended.

Edit: just noticed you said 'budget' so never mind.

          • @snackpacket: I watched Hoffmans review on grinders. What I learned- you can use hand grinders for eapresso but your would not want to =)
So I am more looking for a bargain electric one
