Want to Buy a Skateboard: )

Evening everyone,

So I am looking at buying a skateboard. I actually ended up finding a deck I won at a raffle about 10 years ago which is now listed on eBay for around 220USD by a few different sellers. (Was in the Garage buried)

So instead of me adding the hardware to that one and breaking it, I thought I would rather buy a not so decent one.

I skated a few times as a kid, but I am looking to get back into it and giving it a go!

I have absolutely no idea what the hell I am searching for. I know I just want a complete skateboard and would prefer to spend around $100. Please tell me if I am dreaming to get one at around that price.

I have googled, but would love some input from those who actually Skate.

Thanks:)

  • Mid-life crisis?

    • I am not that old:) Yet.

  • I also want to buy a skateboard
haven't skated in 5+ years and my old board has broken trucks and is crap
where's the best one to buy one online?

  • Just buy the parts from eBay or some other similar site. Most of the retail stores are dear as poison for parts.

I’ve built a few decks for myself and others and get most of my parts from there.

Depends what you want to do. If you want to get started with a basic complete, you'll be able to pick up an element / blind for about $100. It won't be amazing, but it'll be a very solid start.

Watch your deck width and concaves. You want to be around the 8 inch mark and something pretty moderate.

Alternatively, if you just want to cruise around , have a look at cruisers/longboards. Often a smoother ride. Globe does some decent ones.

    • Honestly, Just wanted to get the hang of it again.
I will check out the element board:)

Will also check out the longboards, hadn't really thought of that

      Thanks for the advice denz

  • Any recommendations for a complete with a plastic deck? This is for a 5 year old and will initially be used "sat on". Something up to $100.
