Original Coupon Deal

I browsed through Toys r Us LEGO on eBay yesterday and this seems to be decent price after the 15% off voucher. Unfortunately, a lot of their LEGO sets have been marked up.

Also found LEGO Shanghai close to 25% off after the voucher but out of stock now.

    Fun little set

Gee some small plastics probably cost them $20 to make….

The plastic in this set is worth about $3 actually.

But who cares? You wouldn't go round fashion deals pointing out that nice clothes cost $3 in material / labor costs.

Now, now… you're making far too much sense there and robbing ChiMot of his deluded little fantasy that out of everything the average Western consumer spends their disposable income on, it's only Lego that is overinflated in value and has no tangible, measurable or perceived benefit to a person. Also, the fact that it's made out of a material that is found literally everywhere on the Earth now and in everything you touch, somehow lowers its intrinsic value, unlike all of the other plastic crap that we surround ourselves with, which is inherently better than Lego plastic and definitely doesn't cost 5c per unit to manufacture.

Remember the number one rule of the Unified Lego Loony Soapboax Hypothesis: contradiction, contradiction… contradiction.

Now excuse me while I drop my monthly income on several dozen litres of alcohol, a constant supply of take-out meals because I fail to take responsibility for my own basic survival, some new tattoos because I need them, a bunch of mods for fully sick ride/bike/petrol-powered d!ck substitute that I barely drive anyway and bunch of DIY horsesh*t that I'll never actually use/build/assemble but hey… thank God it's not Lego and therefore not a huge waste of money. It feels good to be winning the consumerist rat race.
