A PayPal Alternative for Disputes (Banks That Have More than 30day Window)

Hi all,
I know that PayPal offers 180 days from date of transaction to file a dispute. Banks on the other hand, especially the 4 big banks, offers only 30 day on their debut cards

Does anyone know what bank offers more than 30 days? Been doing research but frankly my research skills sucks.

Edit:
Thanks for the comments.
Just gave CBA a call and they said its all good up to 3 months and even if it passed that, i can still lodge a dispute. So the 30 days is pretty much bullshit lol.

Australian consumers are protected by the ACL. Suppliers are required to provide a remedy if the fault happens within a reasonable period after purchase.

    🤦‍♂️

  • Amex do, I had a dispute with an eBay seller past the date I could open a dispute, just did it through my amex online banking and got a refund.

    • Ah, not really appealing to have an Amex right now… thanks anyways.

      • Yeah, I only find amex appealing for Qantas points.

Most payments through Visa MasterCard or Amex offer 45 to120 days chargeback option If and when you can show for a chargeback

you payed for a product or services with a debit or credit card, and:
the products or services received are not as described
you did not receive the products or services at all or within the agreed timeframe
there are duplicate or fraudulent transactions
    charges are made without permission
    unrecognised transactions appear
the business stops operating and does not supply the purchased product or service.
the product or service is faulty or defective

    • Even though Visa and MasterCard says 45 to 120 days, the big 4 banks says otherwise

      See for example CBA: https://www.commbank.com.au/support.banking.chargeback-expla…
"To request a chargeback, tell us you want to chargeback the transaction within 30 days of the date of the statement which shows the transaction and provide us with any information we ask for to support your request."

      and CBA uses mastercard.

      • Full quote -

In some circumstances when you make a purchase using your Debit MasterCard or credit card, we can dispute a credit transaction for you from the merchant’s financial institution. This is called a chargeback. Usually, we can only do this after you have tried to get a refund from the merchant and were unsuccessful.

If you believe an error or unauthorised transaction occurred, notify us straight away. To request a chargeback, tell us you want to chargeback the transaction within 30 days of the date of the statement which shows the transaction and provide us with any information we ask for to support your request.

If you don’t follow these steps, it may limit our ability to resolve your complaint, and you may still be liable for the transaction.

Chargeback rights don’t apply to BPAY® payments from your Debit MasterCard, however we will do our best to try to recover the payment from the Biller or any other person who received it, if possible.

        • Gave them a call and they said that it can be up to 3 months or even more. Guess their website was a bit confusing with that 30 days.
