    You need a 40-622 (700 X 38C-28X 1 5/8 x 1 1/2) tyre

    • Nice try smartass but he needs a tube.

Sounds like you have a hybrid bike

700C is the diameter, which is the standard road bike size
38C (or 1.5 inch) is the width, which is wider than you would find on a pure road bike. Most tubes will do for a range of widths

Any bike shop should be able to sell you one for less than $10, or something like this will do

  • Thanks guys some good advice here, will follow up cheers

Tubes are sold by diameter and a range of width. You need a 700c diameter and 38mm width. Probably something like 700x25-40 (38 is between 25 and 40)

And as above check for the correct valve. Skinny ones are presta, fatter ones are Schrader (car type). You can fit a presta in a schrader but not the other way around. Unfortunately fitting a presta in a Schrader hole is a recipe for punctures unless you get an adaptor or wrap tape around the valve so it doesn’t wriggle around in the hole.

    • Thanks great advice!!
