  • Sounds good.

I've successfully used www.optical4less.com twice now, for progressive bi-focals.

And I'm just about to get a new script fulfilled, probably from them again - they have some great, very plain, larger frames (ooops, spoke too soon, they have discontinued my favourite large frames).

Also worth a look, the 'online-glasses' review site: http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com/

  • Good find for a spare pair.

    • WTF?

      Are they new or used?

      There is a difference!

      • OF CAUSE THERE NEW,DID YOU GO TO THE SITE BEFORE JUMPING THE GUN,FOR GODS SAKE!!!

  • I can't find any information about shipping charges to Australia. Whereabouts would that be on the site? Is it $4.95?

    • shipping to Australia is aprox $9. you will get that after your enter your order and address details.

  • Thanks. Great Deal.

  • I purchased a pair from this company and found the quality was excellent.

Warning for all online glasses purchase. You need to be comfortable that your prescription is accurate. Unfortunately they make the glasses according to the prescription. If the script is incorrect, then the optometrist here will fix it and the glasses, online they will remake only if the glasses don't match the script.

My solution - go to two optometrists and make sure that the scripts match (Both should be bulk billed so no charge). If not then get a third.

There should be a law against this type of unethical behavior.

      • HaHa.

My house mate got a script, I was skeptical about it, so a month later went to OPSM and got another script.
        The scripts were quite different!
We went with the OPSM script, as I'm assuming that because they are a well know big company, they wouldn't want to stuff something like that up.
We get out glasses for $30 AUD delivered from here: goggles4u.com - a massive range.

        • I might get a second opinion in that case too.

Theoretically, you should get a 3rd script, and let them vote - 2 out of 3 - for the winner.

Haven't tried goggles4u.com, but if they have the large frames I like, I give them a go.

    • I though you only allow 1 per year for bulk billed!?

      • Well thanks for spoiling a wonderful idea for everyone :)

  • Just placed an order, fingers crossed they suit me

  • Great idea re 2 optometrists. Will definitely give them a go.

  • Received my glasses a few days ago - very happy! Excellent product for under $18 (including postage).

  • Goggles4u.com allows you to search the frames by dimensions, materials & colour.
Browse and try on some frames at OPSM, find ones that suit you and remember the numbers printed on the arm.
These are the measurements (or could be the model number).
If you order glasses with the same dimensions, same material and same colour as the ones you tried on, they should suit you exactly the same.

  • Try ausspecs.com.au I am ordering a pair of hingeless glasses from Ausspecs again. Why, first of all their prices are great! Second of all, quality. Hingeless/Rimless glasses need to be set into the lens, have been wearing the same type of glasses for years and have brought glasses in Australia, Thailand, India, and China (Ausspecs still wins on price by the way) and the glasses from Ausspecs have been correctly set so they sit right on your face. Whereas I have paid $700.00 in Australia from another major optical supplier chain only to get glasses that looked like a 3yr old had set them.

  • Received my glass too in a good condition. To my surprise, posted from Pakistan! package was so manually wraped in a cotton cloth sewed and hand written…Anyway, product was satisfying.
