Is The Xbox One S Likely to Be Discounted Again?

Specifically…. Before the next gen console is released?

I need a new one but don't want to pay full price.

  • Considering that most consoles are in short supply due to the pandemic (people buying one to pass the time at home, possible supply chain issues) it is unlikely retailers would see a need to discount prices at this time. Supply and demand and all that.

  • Normally the previous gen consoles get discounted when the next gen are release.
IMO X box series X will get released in mid-September so mid October will be the time buy

  • I'm guessing Black Friday is the soonest we'll see good sales again, Xbox Series X will have launched by then and likely PS5.
So we aren't likely to see much between now and the next gen launch

  • There's been some stuff leak about an Xbox One S v2 on shelves soon. Given they've stopped making the XboneX, and the XboneSAD, but not the XboneS, it's likely the V2 is the same console, maybe with a process shrink on the CPU, and the new version of the controller. Depending on what the pricing on XbSX and XbSS end up being, you may see the XboneSv2 at some pretty sweet prices, or perhaps some run out prices for the current version. So yes, it will probably get cheaper. Maybe prior to the new consoles if they want to flog off the V1 before V2 hits the shelves.

How great and totally not confusing are all those letters?

    • If the Xbox Series S came with a UHD 4k Blu ray drive i would be all over it :) but its looking to be digital only

  • Harvey Norman are already advertising a Xbox One S Digital 2.0

But I'm pretty sure Microsoft have killed production of the all digital console?

    • The 4k UHD blu ray drive makes the console as stand alone players cost more.
