How to Secure Label in Auspost Flat Rate Satchel?

Okay, this might be a bit of a silly question but, the this is for the flat rate satchels that you can buy in bulk for 15c each, with the A5 sized plastic pocket at the back. I've been printing labels 4 per A4 sheet, so it is half the size of the pocket. It slides around a lot, and clearly can fall out.

Does AusPost scan through the plastic sheet, or do they take the label out to scan if the plastic distorts the scanning? Should I tape the label to the inside of the pocket, or just tape the pocket opening closed.

How do you secure these?

It will scan through. Just put the label in and sticky tape the the opening of the pocket.

In future use a proper label printer that will print on labels.

I usually just print one per a4 sheet and then fold the sheet so it takes up the interior of the plastic window so it doesn't move around. As @jpl said, Australia Post can scan through the plastic window (just tape it shut, although my satchels had a adhesive strip thing to keep the plastic window contents contained).

    • I thought they did but they seem not to have them anymore.

  • The sticky strip is easy enough to open so I just clear tape the pocket closed so it can't come out or be removed.

    • There is no sticky strip on these new satchels. It just opens and flaps about. That’s why I asked.
