This isnt waterproof unlike the Multigroom 5000

    • Yeah thats True. I think for someone who travels often the 3 hour charge time is quite good also the fast charging compared to 18 hours.

lithium ion power in a trimmer that's insane

    • ermmm…. many trimmers are now using Li-Ion?

    • The trimmer has a lithium ion battery

      Am i missing something lol.

Clearly you don't have Kayo and haven't watched the fat beer hipster talk about this trimmer roughly 1400 times like me

  • Went from Wahl to Philips 7000, will be going back to Wahl. No matter what setting I use on the Philips, it cuts too close to the skin, so really hard to keep a longer length.
Philips multi length attachment moves up and down whereas the Wahl moves forward, so no matter how you hold it, it will not cut shorter than the desired setting.

    • Which wahl would you recommend? In the past I’ve had a VS sasson which had different length settings (went up by 0.5mm if I recall) but it wasn’t that great. It either cut too short or didn’t cut at all.

Im currently using a Philips series 3000 which I found on ozbargain. Like what you said it has an attachment that goes up and down in settings of 1-18. It’s decent but I’m looking for a new one.

Ideally, I’d love to find one that gives me that 5 o’clock shadow (or closest to it)

  • Is this one loud? I've noticed most of the cheaper ones are really loud. This looks like better quality than most of the cheapies so hopefully it's a bit quiter too. I got a cheaper Wahl made in China and you can hear that thing from the other side of the house.

  • is this any good for the old downstairs tackle trimming?

  • Thanks for pulling specs from Wahl's Page. The mm specs are important but don’t seem to make it to the listings all the time!

  • What's the rolls royce wrt build quality in the bead trim game?

My covid face mane isn't easy to manage with the long hair trimmer on my braun electric shaver

      Babyliss

  • I have this and neither the trimmer nor the charger have even a basic LED to tell if is still charging or it has finished. Not sure if it has been updated, I got mine in 2013 and still going strong, battery seems to still hold the charge for a long time.

    • Yeah i found that with most Wahl Trimmers unless you go up in price sort of stupid, Would you say it gives a Close Shave or enough for detailing?

Also have your blades rusted or need replacing.

      • not as close as a babyliss (saw on video), but way better than other philips or remington tools (tried). Blades never rusted, but I noticed a decrease in sharpness over time, I guess that's fair and expected after 7 years, still using the same head no issue

        • Do you know which Babyliss model?

          Thanks for replying.

If it is the Babyliss that i think you are mentioning its over $200

          • +1

@Tehcookiemonsta: Babyliss pro, going for $250-$300, it is clearly top of the range for consumer use.

  • Can you use this for your hair? So if I wanted a 0 and 1 length cut I could use it on hair?

    • Not sure how powerful it would be for Hair.

The Wahl V5000 are also on Special atm, although they cost more and aren't compact or cordless.
