  • I note many of your products contain seemingly high amounts of alcohol. From Paula's Choice ingredient dictionary:

"When you see these names of alcohol listed among the first six ingredients on an ingredient label, without question they will aggravate and be cruel to skin. No way around that, it’s simply bad for all skin types. Consequences include dryness, disruption of the surface of skin's microbiome and barrier (the latter being especially bad for skin), and a strain on how skin replenishes, renews, and rejuvenates itself. Alcohol just weakens everything about skin."

    • It's organic, not synthetic alcohol and in small percentage (4.5% and 10%) for facial products, seems that's ok from a quick google search.

Not sure but just my 2c.

    • Not to mention the fragrance and essential oils in their products…

and then there's the homeopathy aspect and the cray cray founder.

Our products are formulated similar to homeopathic medicines and tinctures, where alcohol is traditionally used to draw out the vital life forces of a plant to create a botanical extract in a specific concentration. Alcohol is also used as a natural preservative in our formulations. We use organic grain alcohol fermented from bio-dynamic wheat and plant sugars. We do not use Methyl or Propyl alcohol – also known as rubbing alcohol. Additionally, alcohol improves the consistency and the stability of our products. The stabilizing effect is important for our products, because we do not use synthetic preservatives.

Our alcohol is approximately 4.5% concentration which is equivalent to the amount in a standard beer. At these low concentrations, alcohol has been shown to be well tolerated on the skin and does not harm the acid mantle, the skin’s natural oily cover even on sensitive baby skin.

  • Unless it's a fatty alcohol - which the facebook post makes clear it is not it is drying alcohol - it's not good for the skin and should generally be avoided. that it appears so high up on the ingredients list is especially problematic. 'organic alcohol' is just completely meaningless marketing speak.
