Best Value for Money Badminton Feather Shuttlecocks

Hi all,
I've recently got into badminton and loving it so far. I'm currently using nylon shuttlecocks and would like to switch to using feather shuttlecocks.
Just wondering what the OzBargain community would recommend for a good value for money (I don't think I need tournament grade level shuttlecocks) shuttlecocks and where to buy it for beginners. If it helps, I'm based in NSW.

Cheers!

  • I believe they sell them for 28-35 a tube at courts, depending on your choice of shuttles. They sell for slightly cheaper if you buy bulk

    • Yeah that seems quite pricey and I can't imagine it being that much cheaper for bulk (happy to be proven wrong). Just hoping someone can recommend a decentish brand or a great shop with value shuttles :)

      • Aeroplane is a decent and most commonly used brand, gosen/yonex/li-ning is ok, but haven't seen much of these around.

You can also join social comps and pay a flat rate of about 15 for entry/playtime/players/shuttles

I play badminton and buy Aeroplane EG1130 shuttlecocks off eBay for about $35/dozen delivered.

You can go cheaper but there are two problems: really cheap shuttles break more easily, and don't fly as fast. eBay is loaded with counterfeits. I've bought 'Yonnex' and 'Kawasaki' shuttles there before but they're always cheap knockoffs.

    • Thanks for the info. Damn $32 seems pricey but I’m guessing the durability increases. Have you tried these ones by any chance? 24 for $56. I’ve used them are they seem good, but of course I’ve never played with the top tier shuttles before so I wouldn’t know.

      • These break as soon as anyone smashes them but if they work for your games then sure why not. I only play social and I find the few $ you save upfront you lose instantly by going through a lot more shuttles since the cheap ones break so easily.

      • tried arrow before but not this tier, quality wise they feel different from aeroplane. Plus aeroplane isn't that much more expensive anyways.

its much more not just durablity but also quality and playability (for more advance players).
some will just flat refuse to play with anything below aeroplane green for example

hint. victor brand slightly cheaper than aeroplane but still decent.
others? dont bother think about it

Just get either Victor or aeroplane brands. That's it. No but no bot. Full stop.
Each brand has few grades on them, usually by colours.

Example, If aeroplane black is too expensive for you, then get aeroplane green. Good enough for beginners. They should last for one game, get free used shuttle laying around the courts when warming up.

Where to get them? Easy. places where you play Badminton. 99% im sure they will sell. If doubt can always ring in advanced.

Or, Google ezybox Badminton store in Sydney. Forget eBay. Forget other brands.

    • Thanks for the comment ChiMot. I went out to buy some Victor Special shuttlecocks for $22 based on your comment. They seem like a good start for beginners (like myself). I'm also waiting for the AliExpress sale (starting in a few hours) to get myself some Li Ning A+60 ( for ~<$15.48/dozen) which according to this youtube review video is rated pretty damn highly.

      • is that the pink grade victor? blue master victor is expensive i think but good.

ok let us know when you get the shuttle from aliex

        • Hey ChiMot, sorry for the delay just getting back to you as promised about the Li Ning Shuttles from AliEx. I've been attending some training events where they use Aeroplane shuttlecocks and couldn't differentiate between the Li Ning A+ 60s I've been using. With the massive price difference, I can confidently-ish recommend the A+ 60s :). Right now it'll cost ~$1.20 per shuttle when you factor in AliExpress coupons.

  • I've been using Protech shuttlecock and the quality is pretty decent for the price, you should get in touch with this guy who's running the brand here in Aus, he's in VIC but will do postage as well, you can check out their website, https://protechsports.com.au/product-category/shuttlecocks.

    Pricing could be negotiable
