Cheapest Shipping to China

I need to send an incorrect item that was delivered back to China.

Looking for the absolute cheapest way to go about this? Couldn't care less how long it takes to get there. Satchel is approx. 22cm x 15cm x 5cm, weighing 2kg. Cheapest I could find was $83, more than the item cost.

  • did you pay via PayPal? https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/returns (only up to $45 though)

    • Paypal only cover it if you used a fully fledged account with them. As i paid on the business' own site with credit card, the payment was processed via a Paypal guest account. I didnt even realise it went through Paypal at first. A loophole the seller is very aware of. The Paypal community forum is littered with other burned people like me as the seller knows exactly what Paypal will do. Paypal will only offer a partial refund for the completely random item i received. Mastercard will decline charge back because Paypal offered partial refund already. Only way to get full refund, is pay return shipping at my own cost. But its the only way to make the seller refund the full amount, even if i lose some to a 3rd party shipper.

Perhaps hitch a ride with some baby formula?

  • Send them a tracked envelope with some fingernail clippings in it or something. Two can play at that game. (sending random items)

  • If did actually order the item then just forget about this idea, it won't be worth the time or hassle to send it back. Maybe try sell it locally to offset some of the cost.

If you ordered something else and the seller sent the wrong thing, then this is the sellers problem. Let them decide how they want to get it back. (any costs they pay upfront obviously)
