Setting Up as a Mortgage Broker - Independent vs Franchise?

Hi Guys

I am a Financial Accountant by profession. I am looking to make a career change and start my own business. I thought of going into Mortgage broking.

I am confused between going by myself and going with a franchise business like Mortgage choice.

I would like to know your experiences.

Are you a Mortgage choice broker or independent?
Why did you make the choice you made?
How do you prefer it over the other one?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you all

    🤦‍♂️

  • Hi pal are you looking to start a business in a new profession or a new business in a profession you've got experience in. If it's the former, be prepared for a lot of sleepless nights. You're better off starting as an employee and leave once you've got the tools you need.

Franchisors make money selling Johns and Janes big dreams of being part of a team and making big bucks. Many franchisees fork out $10000s and $100000s only to see their investment crash in year or two.

  • Have you even googled Mortgage Choice? Good luck to you.

Also how is a financial accountant different to a regular accountant?

  • Here's an article that might give you a bit more info. Even if you decide not to buy a franchise, you'll likely want an aggregator.
