Which Smart Plug Can Setup "Infinite Interval on/off"?

Hey folks,

I have a specific requirement to fulfill: I want to have a smart plug that can do something like "on for X min then off for Y min" infinitely where X and Y should be adjustable — is there such a product does so?

I have read users' manuals from a number of products but yet to find a suitable one… Is my requirement too uncommon?

Any suggestion appreciated.

Thanks,

J

  • Is my requirement too uncommon?

Most likely. TP-Link lets you schedule them for on and off, but not for set duration like that

  • There is a way, but it's more like a hack. If I create Scene A and tell it to turn light on, wait x seconds then turn off, and create scene B that runs scene a, waits 2x seconds then runs scene a again. Scene C runs scene B, waits 4x seconds, then runs scene B again… Then keep doing this until the total amount of time adds up to a day, then set a trigger to the last scene that runs every day. (I am using Xiaomi Home which alloes this behavoiur)

  • Seems to be possible for non-smart plugs (ie programable but not smart)

Purchase a Tuya based plug (of any brand) and flash
Tasmota. Then create a rule(s) to achieve what you are trying to do.

  • Tuya Smart Life got two options called "Left Time" & "Timer", but not sure whether it suits you.

  • just get a tuya one and you can do it with homeassistant

I think eWeLink plug will probably do it for you. There is a loop timer in its app with the following options:

    Loop method (note: Repeat|Alternate)
    [0-23h59m] (note: ON duration)
    From (note: yyyymmddhhmm)
Enabled (note: on|off for the timer)
