Any Bargain on Sealy Mattress?

Looking to buy a double bed mattress I saw 50% off + 10% off all sealy mattress earlier this year in Myer/David jones can't remember which one, but have been looking for a few months now, and can't see any bargain like that. If anyone sees a similar deal please let me know

  • My Costco has Sealy Posture Premier Plus.

Queen size was $500, so double would be a bit less I guess?

I can't see it on their website, but those are online purchase and delivered ones I guess. Not sure if they deliver the ones in the warehouse, so you might need a ute/van/truck/roof racks…?

I have a pic of the label if you need it.

I've been looking for a good value King size mattress, but it's so hard; lots of the expensive ones are terrible quality.

    Depends on your budget too.
Sealy have really good…. and really bad mattresses in their range.
You def get what you pay for when it comes to sealy.

a $500 sealy vs a $1500 Sealy they are miles apart.

All the majors have been doing sealy +10% off lately.
    Forty Winks was last weekend
    Snooze was 2 weekends ago
    Bedshed is this weekend

(Disclaimer: I work in a bedding retail shop)

The Sealy mattresses they sell at Costco will have different names to what you buy in other shops. Indeed they change the name and models for different retailers so it makes comparing prices hard.

I’ve got the queen bed mattress from Costco and it’s brilliant. Incredibly comfortable and I’ve had people stay over and ask what it is and where I got it.

My brother-in-law works in a bed shop and told me the Costco Sealy mattresses are the same as what they use at the Hilton (possibly Hyatt, one of them anyway).

Buy the ones they sell at Costco, you won’t regret it. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My previous cost mattress $4,000 (from the brother-in-law) and that was a good price apparently. It didn’t feel appreciably better.

Best bit, they make them in Australia.

Your borther in law is wrong lol

The sealy's sold in Costco are the "premier" range
Which in other retailers are known as
      Elevate
      Elevate Heritage
      Elite Pillowtop
      Dawn
      Advantage

The ones used by Hilton Hotels are an exclusve hotel brand mattress but are based on the Exquisite range which are far more expensive than the Ranges mentioned above.

The names might be different and they also change something about the mattress to set them apart but they are certainly not of a "5 star hotel" standard.

Worked on a recent supply contract with Sealy and can tell you they spend far more than $500 per mattress and they are MILES apart when it comes to the quality of your sleep etc

The common feedback i have gotten on the ranges above is that while comfy the longevity is not great, they tend to develop dips very early on in their life cycle. Now a 10 year warranty certainly gives peace of mind but the dip has to be "substantial:" for the swap or repair to occur. The lower priced sealy's are aus assembled from imported parts and this sadly affects the quality overall. (so yes technically Aus Made)

You get what you pay for!
some lower priced mattresses can be amazing (sleepmaker make a great mattress at around $600, KIngKoil also have a great lower priced one)
$500 sealy's are good for a spare room imho
Sealy also do not make a pocket spring mattress which is a big red flag for me, pocket springs are the far superior spring type for support and partner disturbance etc

  • I’m not member of Costco and live in SA so not all store is available for me Eg bedshed

  • If any place doing 50% + 10% off plz let me know

  • I think Sleep or Forty Winks had 40% off a few weeks ago? I'm in the market for a mattress too but no idea what to get and what is good value. I like the idea of an adjustable bed, if anyone has any recommendations?

    • Always 40% In David Jones and Myer
      But looking 50% + 10% 😂

  • Also try a warehouse factory outlet. Recommend a mattress with a topper that is separate, so it can be rotated.
