What Are You Gifting for Father's Day?

We spend much more on Mother's day than Father's day. In the US, the average amount spent on gifts per dad is expected to be US$135. By contrast, US$186 was spent on Mother's Day presents. 2017 figures: https://www.bbc.com/news/business-40260169

So what are you getting dad for this year? And do you reckon you spent more than on Mother's day? It's interesting we tend to buy more for mum. This year, I spent 70% more on Mother's day, whereas I only took only 20 mins to decide for dad (car care products and chocolates).

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2020.

With respect, the US stats mean nothing for Australia. You could quote stats from any country.

This is just a trend, obviously not all trends can be applied to Australia. Lighten up!

We are very similar to America particularly in spending trends- high consumer debt with credit cards, high house prices with mortgage stress, both our Reserve banks/treasury keep printing money, so on.

I assume this year I will again be giving my kids each $5 they can spend on me from the school gifts. I might as well throw the money in the bin.

My son always bought me great things with his School Fathers day money. Screw driver sets, little torch, mugs, some things were made in art.
