Bit of a strange one I know, but the rental I stay in came with a few basic doormats that don't really help clean the sand and grit off shoes. It seems like as soon as I clean the floors, there is dirt on them again!
Anyone have any good doormats they recommend that will really help keep my floors neat and tidy?

Mine says merry christmas on it, I bought it cos it was radically reduced in January and had a good rugged pile to it.
The one that came with the house had flamingos on it and was free.

Got some at Bunnings on the wkend. My advice is don't go for the cheapest ones. They just break apart or don't capture the dirt.
We used a rubber one outside for scraping off any muck (and dries easier in poor weather) and a large size one indoors with short fibres to pick up any loose dirt.
Sorry don't have a doormat pun to keep in with the theme of comments here. Tread carefully.
You can make the best purchase but then they are still only as good as people actually spending some time wiping their feet.
Rather than just "Welcome" mats should maybe say "Use me then your Welcome".
We have the rubber backed coir mates and they seem to work well for the front door. I, also, got some cheapie ones from Daiso for when we come in from outside. We have a couple of doors to the courtyard and one from the balcony. It just stops the wet footprints effect.

Doesn't work if you have kids running in and out, but if people are aware of it, they'll give them a quick swish through.
Better yet, shoe rack at the door.
Enforce a 'Shoes off before entering' policy.
