Just saw this email but looks like the sign up period ends at 9pm tonight. Both you and your friend get a free Famous Star with cheese burger. Free burger has to be redeemed within the 72 hours.

To qualify:
1. Sign up to Refer-a-Friend
2. Share your unique link with a few friends.
3. If a friend signs up, you both get a free burger.

How to participate
To take part Hope Island and Rothwell Referrers must, during the Promotional Period (defined below) sign up a Hope Island or Rothwell Referee (new member) to the MyCarl’s Refer a Friend program to obtain a Reward.

EDIT: Looks like redemption email can be used anywhere as it only states "You've earned a FREE Famous Star with Cheese! Visit your nearest Carl's Jr. restaurant ASAP and show this screen. You'll then be asked to press the 'REDEEM' button. "

  worked but staff said they have no option to redeem in qld so just gave it to me.
