Which tyres would you recommend out of this lot?

They are for a 2016 CX-9 FWD.

Looking for good value tyres out of this bunch. Is there any you would recommend over the others?

Just avoid the cheap arse generic chinese tires 👍

    Bridgestone all the way 👌

  • Bridgestone

  • Yeh, I should have sorted low to high, but was wary of getting budget tyres. Drive a mix of suburban and motorway driving, Sydney western suburbs.

  • Dueler HT.

I see them on lots of tradie Utes and vans, and fleet vehicles. Someone has done their research for you, may as well use it.

Different tyres if you do lots of gravel road but I suspect not since FWD

  • Wait for a www.tyresales.com.au sale they have great prices at times on certain tyres, otherwise look for a buy 4 get 1 free deal?

Im a michelin fan so I'd reccomend the PS4 but they're on the exxy side I'll admit.

  • good value: Will keep you on the road in most situations for a couple hundred $ more than the cheapest hard rubber per 30/40/50 thousand k's, which will cost you a new car/possibly your life.

If you've heard of them, buy them. (Yokohama are the cheapest on the link you sent that are proper tyres, but continental, hankook, bridgetstone, goodyear michelin, pirelli are decent enough)

As with all tyre posts on Ozbargain, never skimp on tyres and change them in pairs at least, all if AWD!

  • Bridgestone first, closely followed by Michelin. You should get 50000+ km out of them with normal driving

Budget tyres are good if you intend on selling the car soon.

Out of curiosity, why Bridgestone first?

My personal experience is that the Michelin PS4 are much better than the RE050, S001, and RE003. Again, personal experience.

Having driven on Michelin Primacy SUVs I'd be very happy to stick with Michelins for a long time. Great grip, noise level and wear. Had PS3s on my previous car which were fantastic.

      • @ AdosHouse

Personal experience. Bridgestone tyres seem to last me for longer with less loss of road feel.

I got 60000km out of my last set of Bridgestone's and they were still legal and as quiet and great in the wet/dry as they were the day I bought them.

        • 60k is amazing wear. Do you know what model they were?

My experience was based purely on grip. Some long lasting tyres would be nice.

      • Absolutely.Michelin every time over Bridgestones.Next choice:Continental.Currently running PS4 on the wife’s car.Just superb. These replaced Continental premium contact 5(which are also very good) but I would rate the Michelin slightly better.(The other vehicle, GT Mustang) currently is on Pirelli Zero’s,not impressed @ all.Going to be replaced with Michelin Pilot sport 4 “S”.

  • Had similar size Michelins on my suv for past 70,000km and should easily see 100,000 and still be legal.
Cannot fault them in any way.
If you intend doing a lot of k's in the car then in the long run i would say they will end up being the cheapest and best option.
I have Bridgestones on my other car (35,000km) and they are good also but not quite as good as the Michelins.

  • If mainly road use and you can afford them, the michelin PS4.

If you want to save a bit the Goodyear Assymetric.

If you want a tiny bit of Mud & Snow capability the the Conti Cross Contact LX as it's full of sipes. It won't be quite as sharp on the road.

I'm not a fan of the Geolanders. I had them on the Outback(s) and they loved to aquaplane and were noisy on corners.
