Must be expensive warehousing in the CBD. Plus you lose a lot of business unless you are doing floating solar farms on the sea.

100km is a huge radius. I don't think the warehouse is in the CBD.

    This is an unbelievable deal!

  • Can I hook up some batteries to this setup and effectivly run a complete off grid solar supply unit for an average home with 2 kids, computers, TV, fridge and lights running?

    • Great question. I don't know but at a quick guess: 13.3kW x say 80% of what is claimed x say only 5 hours per day of sun = 53.2Whr. Seems like it should be enough for 2-3 days for a small family and energy-efficient appliances. Not all inverters can hook up to a battery system though.

      • AC coupled batterys make this extremely simple these days there is not a lot of onus on the inverter to be able to handle batteries.

        • Would you not lose some with the DC-AC-DC conversion?

          • @mattman: You do.. correct. DC direct (hybrid) is the most efficient. Also many AC coupled batteries won't be charge by the panels in blackouts, most DC connected do.

The bonus of AC coupling is you can get say 4kw from the battery, plus say 5kw from your inverter in one hit (so 9kw of renewal energy) vs only 5kw with the standard 5kw DC hybrid inverter.

  • Clean energy council …if there ever was an oxymoron…this is it!

    More like Corrupt Energy Consortium.

Manufacturers have to pay $5000 for their panels and inveters to be listed as CEC approved for 3 years. They release a new model, and don't pay to run the old one again (why would you).

So what do you do with a solar panel or Inverter that is 3 years old (even if brand new)… You throw it into landfill as its not usable under CEC regulations.

Thinking of 'upgrading'' your system in 3 years (assuming you get your panels on the very day the CEC application is processed), you cant! You need to dump it and start again.

    People need to know this.

It's an environmental destroying Maffia. I'm not targeting this at this op, they need to be CEC (Maffia) approved to exist.

10000's tonnes of fully functional, 100% safe solar gear is being dumped every year and it needs to stop.

    • Don't dump it, they should send my way :-)

      • Only if you illegally install yourself. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them, it's just they haven't paid the CEC (environment destroying mafia) there $$$ .

In 2028 when everyones bonus feed in ceases, and they want to upgrade.. the streets will be littered with panels.

Its akin to buying a new car with a 25yr warranty. But in 3 years you can't sell it as it can no longer be registered as Mazda hasn't paid there $5000 fee. I actually reported it to the ACCC as it is a consumer rort.

        • Nope, not at all :-)

          • @tessel: your response makes no sense

what is the purpose of the second smiley?

  • PANELS ENGINEERED IN GERMANY - LOL - MADE IN CHINA

    • They're ok panels. I have no idea about the inverter though. I'm guessing a cheaper Chinese brand. Still very cheap compared to what we pay in Tasmania.

      • Solis is good inveter( value for money) with 10 years warranty.

We have the option to to upgrade to Sungrow, Fronius, Solar Edge, SMA etc. Email me for pricings. Cheers

  • I'm a bit of a solar newbie, but my understanding is that you can only export a max 5kw back to the grid at a time.
Wouldn't that mean that if you aren't using at least 8.3kw during the day, or charging a battery, you're just burning daylight?

    • Yes but how often will you be producing 8.3kw? You won't ever be maxing out your system all day. However, during other times you will be producing more power than you normally would have if you only had a 5kw system.

    • +1

If you have a 3 phase, this limit does not apply.

  • Do you install in the Sunshine Coast?

    • Mostly yes. Please email me your address ( [email protected]) - I will confirm.

      • Have emailed. Thanks.
