HD PVR: To record from Xbox 360

Hi guys, I'm looking for a solution to record HD videos from my Xbox 360. I've seen a lot of devices, ones that hookup directly to your PC via USB, ones that record onto USB, ones that enable you to hookup the component video and more.

I'm not really sure which ones are the best out there. Ideally I'd like one that is relatively inexpensive and can record in HD. I have seen some out there that only record analog input which really isn't what I'm after.

Hopefully someone has an idea on what I should get. Thanks all ^_^

    $92.99.

Most recording devices like this will set you back at least that much. Unless you want to opt for the cheaper devices that don't record in hd resolutions.

    • Thanks mate, this looks great. That price range is what I expected and that should suit me fine. Are there any other competitive options around this price range or is this simply the best available in this range?

      Thanks a lot :D

      • Thats the cheapest sub $100 IIRC. The closest ones would be the various avermedia range which you should be able to get around $120-$130 I think.

      • The Roxio only does 480p by the way. The HD PVR I use is the Hauppauge one, it was around $200. Otherwise AVERMedia have a recording station for slightly less.

EDIT: To clarify, the Roxio lets you play in HD, but only records in SD. Furthermore, the HD it provides is simply upscaling which is slightly better than stretching the picture out to 720p. End of the day, the Roxio seems rather expensive for an SD recorder IMO.
