So I'm not really sure how/why this exists, but I managed to get this for free by entering the code above ($41.99 with $41.99 off with code).

              @lostinsydney: I think it was only meant to be available in combination with the other promotion code that was on there about their new phone cases or something. I think it said something about adding both items to cart, but I only added the hub and it worked regardless.

    What are the odds, I was looking at the PC version of this only yesterday. Didn't get one though as from what I understand, your USB-C port needs to support alt mode in order to work on a PC; most midrange laptops don't, from what I know.
    I really want my PC to stream 4k@60Hz to my 4k TV but without Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0 or USB-C alt mode I don't think it's possible… Does anyone know if HDMI 1.4 can be "upgraded" to 2.0 with an external graphics card?

      Theoretically possible if you connect an internal mini pcie slot to a 4k60 capable graphics card, but it's pretty janky and probably fairly expensive.

      Getting something like a pi 4 would probably be cheaper and let you stream 4k60 media to your TV.

          Chromecast ultra will work well if it's purely for media. If you're wanting to do other computer stuff on your TV then a pi would be more flexible.
