  • Mulesing is rife in the Aussie wool industry, very cruel. I would not recommend buying products unless they show their cruelty free credentials.

Fly strike is pretty bad too so I hear..

    • Mulesing might hurt the sheep for a short time after the mulesing is done, but it has long term gains from infection prevention. Im very anti animal cruelty but I think you should get the facts before you try to boycott something you don't know about. Google flystike and you might see the damage which can be done..
Even the Australian Veterinary Association agrees that mulesing is the best current practise to stop up to 3,000,000 aussie sheep a year die slow painful deaths from fly strike…

I saw one sheep with fly strike and would support mulesing any day of the week. It was a horrible thing to see.

      • Any recommandations to stores that dont mulesing

      • An article from 2018 claiming

Australia’s latest non-surgical alternative to surgical mulesing will be available to sheep producers in 2019, according to its developer.

        How did it work out?

    • As above, there are alternative ways to achieve the goal of the mulesing.

Im all for utilising animals, they have zero life without us, its not like they would all be roaming the planet wild in their 'native' habitat they would simply never exist. But we dont need to be cruel about it.
